Well no offense to you but it sounds like you were shaken down right on the street. You are in Chicago right? You may have saved your own life for $20. Those people are so hard that I doubt he even cared that you had a dog. You could have pointed a gun at him and he may not have flinched.I had a guy come up to me at a hood-assed bodega and he says "Bro.... cut loose with some of that green". No gun.
I gave him a $20...Cause I'm nice...... and then I rolled down the windows to let him view my "bitch".
Works every time.
Un-benouced to his dumb ass.... she would kiss him to death.

I am not a tough guy but my advice for people who do not go to the range constantly or handle guns constantly is to get a revolver and a shotgun. I once had to deal with some potential road rage from another driver. I went to reach for my .40 cal hand gun and I felt like an awkward dumbass in the heat of the moment. When your heart is pumping and the adrenaline is rushing the last thing you want to deal with is fumbling with a clip and taking the safety off. A revolver will not jam and is much easier to handle.
The shotgun is great because you don't need to practice your aim constantly. Double Ought Buckshot and spray and pray. For folks like me who don't practice self-defense constantly.
