Why did Tony Farmer think he was so special to not get time?

I kind of feel sorry for the kid. He's been brought up in a society where discipline is a four letter word. Any and all behavior is minimized, ignored or completely excused, and if you're really good in sports, that's another free pass. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve the time, he does, but I'm in no way surprised by his reaction. No doubt he actually believed he'd get a slap on the wrist.
