Why can't I make money - when I know what do do?

Thank you for sharing your thread. I will read it tonight.

Yes, I have both problems. But # 1 is probably more prevalent in all aspects of my life. Memory has always been an issue for me, which is why I didn't continue on to a much higher education.

I offered to help you.....

Thank you for the offer but my methods are sound and work well.

I don't need to learn how to trade I need to learn how to get out of my own way.

There are signals that are very strong, and you should choose the ones you like (support/resistance, stochastics, trend lines, moving averages, whatever you come to like best) and commit them to memory, especially how they look as they're setting up in real time. Seeing and analyzing a chart after the day is done helps you see what the indicators signaled, but learning to recognize how they look in real time is a whole new ball game.

Just look around at the posts today - from some of the traders

There is no doubt a trader can know exactly what to do, but - at times - just can't do it

And why - We're only human

This happens to me day in and day out.

I know what to do.. but doing it is damn near impossible for me.

For some reason I don't see the obvious until after the fact. Not only good trades but I'll take a trade and not notice the things that should have kept me out of that trade until after the loss is booked. like today. went short when market was oversold as well as at former support.

I still do this. Write up a list of things to look for before entering a trade. After a while it will become second nature, but always good to have a list because our minds get lazy. I made my list yesterday and it was very helpful today!

By the way, I now check SPY before EVERY trade!
