Who’s that rich Vietnamese guy in snazzy pants who gave $5 million to San Jose flood victims?

Here is the last question i will ask you, if someone comes here who is illiterate in both languages, penniless, has no support system, and believes in a religion that surpresses women, and hates american values.

Do you think that person has a higher chance of being a contributor to american society, or a lower chance?

Do you think its just a coin flip, like 50/50, so we just throw our arms in the air and say "well its all just random, fuck it let them all in"

There is a much higher probability of people with certain backgrounds being succesful, we should allow those people in, and we shouldnt allow people in who fail every single one of the above tests, thats my immigration policy, if i could set it, i fail to see how thats objectionable to anyone with a brain, or anyone who is a productive part of society.

Other than poltiicians who are dead set on ruining this country for votes.

It all depends on the individual's family background, it has nothing to do ( in my view) with their ethnic or religious background. I believe if you were raised with love, respect for others and work ethic then I'll venture to say that person has a solid foundation and can become a person of value in any society.

Should we allow every single person who wants to come here in? Do you think that open borders just might have a negative effect on our economy? Where is your "barometer" for how we should determine who gets in and who doesnt, cause id think you would agree we cant allow everyone.

How would you measure love and respect for others and work ethic? If thats your criteria for entry.

See your response sounds like a nice little quip to put on a college protest board, but it doesnt sound very realistic.

See i can quantify everything ive said here with stats, i.e. if you are illiterate you have a much higher chance of being in jail, or on welfare.

People who go to college have a much higher chance of making more money, people with money have a much higher chance of making more money.... etc.... etc, all these stats are obvious so why wouldnt we take on immigrants who fit the right statistical criteria in general?

This country's foundation is based on immigration. I don't think immigration negatively affects the economy because economy is based on supply and demand. Just think of how borders came about in the first place, the Kings and Lords of the time did not want their serfs wandering about and not working on their fields or even worse working for another King or Lord.

Reading and writing is a US social problem, has very little to do with immigration IE most if not all immigrants know how to read and write.

OMG man, think about your own example for a second, if some random guy runs in too join the serfs, but he is incapable of doing enough labour to provide food to support himself, is he a net gain on the rest of the serfs, or will the rest of the serfs now have to fork over their food/labor in order to keep him alive?

Think of this concept, think of a unit of labor as a unit of food, if a person comes to the country who can not create enough units of labor to support the units of food he needs to survive, is that person a net drain or a net gain on everyone else in the economy? I feel like this is like first semester economics.

Let's agree to disagree...
