What are you talking about? from the very start of this threads i said that we should be accepting millionaires, billionaires, people going to school at prestigious locations, basically anyone who has a high probability of adding to the economy, you on the other hand have chosen the route of saying we need to accept all immigrants cause they are all good, but you wont answer why we should take illiterate people who come here with no money, no support system, no papers, and basically no opportunity to become a contributing citizen.

I have conceded we should take "good" immigrants in, but you will not even acknowledge my questions as to whether we should take people with 0 prospects into the U.S.

The Vietnamese billionaire fit my mold, he came in 1973 LEGALLY (huge distinction as it means he was vetted) he was a doctor or knew enough in medicine by 1980 that he created a cure for a disease, he obviously was either trained as a doctor, or he was in med school from 1973 on, so he obviously had some sort of prospects,(wasnt illiterate in his own country) also he was 1 person out of 300 million, are you really naieve enough to think this represents the majority of people coming across the border, or refugees?

Well you labeled immigration in general, no one, even Trump is against immigration 100%. You took a pro immigration stance, i explained why we need to vet people, you refused to explain why we should be 100% pro immigrant no matter what, but you tried to make a few feeble excuses as to why we should allow people who would have already been allowed into the country, now you throw your hands up and say where was i making an argument for all immigrants?

You have literally tried to argue against every point i have made for how we should be vetting LEGAL immigrants, but you refuse to tell me why we should allow illegal unvetted immigrants who lack every single quality i said could be a good reason why you should be allowed her legally, and now you wont even acknowledge the original intention of your thread, this is why arguing on ET is futile, im sorry i even engaged but i was bored.

I didnt say "Lack of this language" is a problem, I said if you arent even literate in your own language what are the odds you will become literate here? I specifically stated over and over that if they arent even literate in their own language its a problem, and i stand by that, obviously its not optimal to come here and not know english, but if you have a support system and you were a doctor back home, odds are you will have atleast a chance of being successful. Where as if you were a homeless bum in syria who hasnt even seen the insides of a school odds are you arent coming here to add something to the country, why is that concept so hard?

Also penniless immigrants arent necessarily a problem if they have some sort of a prospect when they come to this country. However, its also hugely beneficial if someone IS NOT "penniless" and we should accept all the people who have the money to be a contributing member of society.

I said if your penniless, without a support group, illiterate in BOTH LANGUAGES, what are the odds you are coming here and going to be a gain to society? What are the odds if you are illiterate in YOUR HOME COUNTRIES LANGUAGE, that you are coming here to study in medschool? If you couldnt even pick up your own countries language, do you think your going to come to our country and do better?

Here is the last question i will ask you, if someone comes here who is illiterate in both languages, penniless, has no support system, and believes in a religion that surpresses women, and hates american values.

Do you think that person has a higher chance of being a contributor to american society, or a lower chance?

Do you think its just a coin flip, like 50/50, so we just throw our arms in the air and say "well its all just random, fuck it let them all in"

Should we allow every single person who wants to come here in? Do you think that open borders just might have a negative effect on our economy? Where is your "barometer" for how we should determine who gets in and who doesnt, cause id think you would agree we cant allow everyone.



There is a much higher probability of people with certain backgrounds being succesful, we should allow those people in, and we shouldnt allow people in who fail every single one of the above tests, thats my immigration policy, if i could set it, i fail to see how thats objectionable to anyone with a brain, or anyone who is a productive part of society.

Other than poltiicians who are dead set on ruining this country for votes.
