Who's from Chicago?

I've never been brave enough to check it out, but somebody told me that the best ribs in Chicago are at a place on west Division in what was the Cabrini Greene area. It is (or was) called Farmer John's. They actually shoved your ribs to you under a bullet-proof glass window!

Arrrg! It was called "Farmer Browns." And yes, it was some of the best in the city. A little hole in the wall in the middle of a hazard zone. But it was agreed upon, understood, neutral/safe ground for all. I stood in line many a night years ago with a mixed group of folks waiting for my order. Good ribs, great sauce, just the right amount of extras. Ah the good old days... :)

I am sorry about that...I might have gotten everyone all worked up about getting together in November and then dropped the ball.

I am still very enthusiastic about meeting everyone here. Especially the people posting in this thread because no one seems to have the typical ego that many on ET seem to possess.

I think we should look to WD for suggestions for a place. I am a fan of Zentra and Minx, although that might not be the best venue.

Have you guys heard about Tuman's (formerly called Tumans alcohol abuse center) being remodeled? I heard it was really done well....still casual and fairly cheap.

Or we could go to the Crazy Horse. Then maybe flaunt the reason we are together and see if we can scare up some dates to take back to a couple of suites at the Four Seasons....

ok...maybe that's wishful thinking....but I like the idea in any event.
 
All kidding aside, I'd rather not have the first Chicago ET meet at a strip club :D Maybe the 2nd meet...but the first meet should be at a place where we can at least talk and get to know the people behind the screen names. How about Hooters of O'Hare?

Is there any possible way you can meet closer to the city? That way we can go to different places if one turns out to be lackluster (and not have to drive 3-5 miles to get there).

For some reason I thought you lived in Lincoln Park(?), but maybe that was just Scientist making fun of you from your triple monitor pic a while ago.

I can go to the suburbs, but I think the city is just so more ripe for fun....and the talent, from my experience, is better in the city...but I may be just being a snob. After we all talk and meet and chat about trading and shit, we will probably want to go someplace to mingle with the locals and play pool or something....so I was just suggesting the city for that reason.
