Who's from Chicago?

Faces? on Rush? Wasn't that like, 1976, or something? Back when some bar called "Mr (something)" was where Gibson's is now? Wasn't that back when Ogden Avenue went all the way to Clark Street?

:)

5 Faces? They've got good late night philly steak...

No not Five faces, the little hot dog/hamburger place with 98% drunken clientele, but the I believe Yorktrader was talking about a bar called Faces. I don't personally remember it, but have heard people talk about it (in almost a legendary way).

I think this bar was popular in the 1970s or maybe early 1980s and it was on Rush Street, not Division. I think it was down where Tavern on Rush or where Jilly's is now, but I don't know for sure.

Anyone know?

BTW, Mr. Kelly's was the name of the place which Gibson's Steak House now occupies. Apparently it was a great lounge-type place and I heard that Sammy, Dean, etc. would stop in often. That is where all the photos inside Gibson's came from...

Couple of blocks south of Tavern, on west side of Rush, maybe Oak and Rush ...

I guess the SW corner... across the street from the Oak Bank...

NW = Bank
NE = Some gay lookin' cloth store
SE = ... I forgot...

...

or was that Walton...
...
Sheesh... I don't hang out at Rush... it's tourist and old people central... Bwahahahahahahaha
...

Anyways... as it a restaurant or a bar???

...

Ahhh... I don't feel like walking over there to check... It's too damn cold...

:(

I guess it's mob stories...

and yes... I'm drunk when I'm at 5 faces.

I was still a kid at the time, but if my memory serves, Faces was located right where Hunt Club is(was?). Somehow I remember that there was a second level that faced east with large windows

FX was where Hunt Club is.

yes, that makes sense. It seems the only place that still stands in its original form from those days is the Solomon Cooper on the corner of Cedar and Rush

A neighbor of my parents worked at that drug store as far back as the 60's. I'd be curious as to when it opened.
