Who's from Chicago?

I've been a Bulls fan since the days of Reggie Theus and Quentin Dailey, but man, these last two years have been tough, at this point I would rather go and watch Depaul play than the Bulls.

Quote from vulture:

I was listening to sports radio earlier tonight and heard that Pippen now says his knee is so damaged he wont be back for this season, and will more than likely retire after the end of this season. The Bulls are on the hook for both years at about $10million....

Now I don't want to be accused of hindsight analysis, but this whole Scottie Pippen revival never sat well with me to begin with. He has had nagging injuries for the past few seasons, and now at age 38 he was signed for a two year contract worth $10 million. This is going to reflect poorly on Paxson I believe.

And again, I think this Rose, Marshall, Baxter trade is a bomb. Davis and Williams cannot create scoring opportunities on their own, which is a major necessity in the NBA. Instead, the Bulls only true playmaker right now is Crawford and to a lesser extent Kendall Gill. So I guess we can look forward to a season of Miami Heat type offense...

On another note, what the hell is with guys coming and going off the injured list on a nightly basis. Blount, Chandler, Pippen, Linton Johnson, Fizer, (Eddie Robinson is due for his one month vacation on the injured list)...Seems nowadays guys just don't suit up if they don't feel like it.

Rant over...

"bomb"...

that is too kind a word, V!

think about the negotiating/trading skills of our Bulls' general mgrs:

Prima donna Jalen (Rose) is worth Artest/Miller and Mercer a couple years ago. Genius Krause makes that move! K?! NOW Rose is traded to Toronto, and the Bulls' new GM genius is again hustled by a better and smarter man with vision and more patience! Yep, suddenly... Rose ain't worth Davis/Williams... even up. Good move Paxson... trade him when his numbers are down!

But in addition.... NOW we gotta get rid of Marshall too AND Baxter (who has a future in the NBA as a good role player having come from a winner)... in addition to Rose! (who, when his head is right can be a prolific scorer... no doubt!) Now if that ain't a hustle. Paxson... might be a 'nice' guy. But obviously he ain't gonna be a super-star GM. Just another role player.

Then our new GM shows more brilliance by retaining Pippen for two years.... knowing full-well it is a high risk "trade" that could fail! And guess what.... ??

Moreover.... when idiot Krause got rid of a mature, determined, talented winner like Brand in favor of the Tyson/Eddie high school show... you knew Reinsdorf cared less... and was more concerned with a World Series berth than restoring the dynasty to at least a moderately strong, whimpering playoff team! Like a friend said to me... whoever heard of a 18-19 year old having so many fricking back problems??! Heck by 21 he'll be using a cane! :p And Eddie... ? He needs smelling salts and headphones to get him motivated... !!

Uh... Tyson... ever hear of streching and back exercises?

Finally... think of these apples:

Krause hires Cartwright.... brilliant! And what does Bill do? HE benches Crawford... who although being an immature, self-aggrandizing punk... IMHO... turns out to be our (now) leading scorer!! NOW what does THAT say about Cartwright's judgment, and Krause's hire?!

And so on and so on... all in a couple years after the "rebuilding" of the dynasty had unsuccessfully begun by ego-chump Krause! LOL

We got a long way to go, bros! As a big fan.. it's very frustrating.

Anyone want my tickets to the Dec 20th Lebron show! :p

Iceman:

Great analysis! I really haven't even thought much about the Miller/Artest/Mercer aspect of the original Jalen Rose deal, but that is a good point. And at that time the Bulls could barely get to 80 pts a game...For the life of me I can't understand how anyone paid Antonio Davis, 35 yo, $12mill. So clearly this move wasnt about dumping payroll as much as it was about getting rid of Paxon's least favorite personalities...

going to ride around in a cab all night just to see the looks on peoples faces when I am sitting in one and they are scambling to get one and get to bed. J/K

Well, I had planned on being back in Chicago originally, but now I am staying in Dallas for the celebration night. I decided to throw a last minute get together thing here to christen the new place and business expansion with friends and associates. :)

Cabaret Metro/Smart Bar used to be cool, but that was 15 years ago.

WD:

I didn't take you for a Crobar guy...I haven't been there in years -- which means I have not seen it since its remodeling.

I have a friend who bartends in the VIP room at RedNo5, so I was considering that, but I don't know, I just don't have much motivation for spending a lot of money for a hangover this year.

Anybody remember how great Shelter was? I miss that place.
