Daniels announced today that he will not run. Too bad, as he actually had the makings of a good President.
The FEC continues his rating at "Who is he?" as like all good bureaucracies they are slow on the uptake.

The fevered pace of Republicans trying to find someone, anybody who can win the general election continued with Tim from Minn. announcing Friday that he would announce today (Monday.)
It featured a video released Sunday where he said:
"âWe need a president who understands our problems are deep and has the courage to face them,â the former Minnesota governor says in a video emailed to supporters. âPresident Obama doesnât. I do. Tomorrow, my first campaign stop will be in Iowa and thatâs where Iâm going to begin a campaign that tells the American people the truth. Iâm Tim Pawlenty and Iâm running for president of the United States.â"
This is confusing as he announced on Friday that would announce on Monday, but he released the video announcing his candidacy on Sunday a day before he told us he would announce. Therefore, his first act as candidate was a lie.

And, Herman Cain, someone with no political experience nor has he held any elective office announced he was running.

The excitement never stops. This morning on the official TV network of the Republican party, aka FOXNEWS, The Donald said he still might run for President because looking at the competition, he figured he can beat any of them.
"I can't rule out anything," he said, adding that it's "vital" for Republicans to select the right person to go up against President Barack Obama in 2012. "I don't see that person."

The research dept just had a messenger pigeon deliver Cain's stand on Israel and Palestinians. Apparently, he does not give a shit.
He said in an interview with Chris Wallace on the GOP's TV station:
"Iâm not convinced the Palestinians are really interested in peace. If the Palestinians come to the table with Israel, with a genuine offer, that the two of them can sit down and negotiate, the United States would in fact try to facilitate that discussion,"
And then he blew it when he fumbled his answer re. right of return:
""Where do you stand on the right of return?" asked Wallace.
"The right of return? [pause] The right of return?" asked Cain.
Wallace then offered more information, "The Palestinian right of return."

Of course, even the unwashed know Israel's position on this: "No fuckin' way"..

Newt update. By far the most entertaining candidate, Newt topped himself at a press conference this morning where he:
1. Compared himself to Reagan.
2. Invoked Mark Twain.
3. Said Obama is a crappy President like Jimmy Carter. (Lie, no one could be that bad.)
4. Further confused his position on the health care mandate.
5. Said whatever he said or did in the past is off limits unless it suits his current purpose.
6. Asked about his Tiffany bill, he said it's paid off. Also promised, if elected, he would start a nationwide search for a new wife.
