Who were your teachers/mentors?

Hey guys,
Always wondered how people come to meet "their" person to teach them trading. Personally my way into the world of futures was practically based on trial and error.
But for you it might be different.

So where did you learn to trade? Who taught you?

Most of my trading coaches / teachers went into hiding (which are a lot),
I have absolutely no idea where they are. I have no idea whether they are alive or dead.
Because they are crooks and unsuccessful traders.


For those of my trading coaches / teachers who are genuine traders (which are very few),
they don't go into hiding.

It should be difficult to find good mentors I believe. No one would like to reveal their edge and business secrets in this zero sum game unless they are family or close friends.

Most were big name traders, expensive and waste of my time. So many years of hard work and approx 100,000 hours so far. Been fun in beginning and mostly fun 42 years later.
