who is your fav trader to follow?

As clueless and deluded as surf. Lots, loooooots of talk but the end result is abysmal.

Just watched that video of VN. Wow......talk about a guy defeated. Not a very good video of himself. Surprised he didn't have it taken off of youtube. Not very flattering.....comes across as clueless.

Yes. Surf can cherry pick VN's career for the good parts, but when it ends with him losing everything...well.......that tells the whole story. The fact that VN did blew out twice....well.....speaks volumes about what kind of trader he was.

All time low for ET content.. pages and pages of Surf h8, without any constructive contributions.. yeah, one guy mentioned J Simons (gee, that's original)..

If you are talking about the Japanese documentary ( they worship VN)-- yes, VN was beat down at the time-- he says he was diagnosed with 12 of the 7 signs of depression during those dark days. The guy was a champion in everything he set his mind to but finally was knocked down-- so yeah - the video captured the depressed vibe Of the situation

Yeah, its quite a sad state of affairs at elitetrader lately. The decline and fall of western ( trading) civilization.

Maverick74 imo is one trader I probably admire the most on ET. He's the real deal of trading and is generous with his knowledge. Gotta admit, 90% of what he says I don't understand, it is way above my head, but the fact of the matter is he is possibly the most valuable contributor on ET to my way of thinking.

Back in the 90s, I upgraded my seat(have done this few times in my life, LOL) to first class to be able to sit next to Jim Rogers for 2.5 hours and totally changed how I viewed long term trading, he didn't give me a system but gave me ideas that I never considered. Long term, I most likely be doing what most others do now if it wasn't for that chance meeting. So although Jim Rogers not day trader, he is the Only trader/investor I listen to now but often I am already in the commodities side of already, and he is often early when talking about stocks.

When it comes to day trading, my last mentor who offered more in lines of disciple but he did teach patterns his own he discovered was John Brown out of Fairfield Iowa, now he teaches Tai Chi I believe most of the time. Think he has his first nickel, uncanny how price will stop in areas he would call beforehand, wished I learned that, LOL. Used very tight stops. Hard to understand and short on patience, in his youth he was world class surfer.
