Surf I am still waiting for you to name other big funds/traders that have lost their entire fund. You seem to imply it has happened often. I guess from your silence that you admit it is really just VN who has been down that road.

The only others I can recall are LTCM who lost 4.4 of 4.7 billion, Brian Hunter (Amaranth), and good ol Nick Leeson of Barings.

Many of the big fund companies have dozens if not 100's of strategies and fund entitities going at once. The ones that blow up-- only the investors know and they are quietly swept under the rug. Then the succesful ones are promoted.

Really ? The ones I mentioned were all public knowledge. Just about every big draw down is reported out there. The complete blow ups ALL are made public.

This is weak on your part Surf. It's safe to say you have no answer when it comes to the question I asked you. You are an expert of dancing around direct questions a lot. VN is part of a VERY small group of PM's who lost everything.

As Surf brought up his trading god, I feel it's only fair I introduce mine. I have always been amazed at James Simons and the return of the Medallion fund.It's rumored to have returned 38 percent per year net..And thats with a 5 percent management fee and a 40 percent cut.

And before Surf joins the party,his worse year was down 4 percent over a 20 year period.

Does anyone have a clue to what he does?

I've tracked his positions on Gurufocus and there doesn't seem to be an obvious method to his genius.

What he fails to realize, or maybe he does, is 95% of the views and posts on his threads/journals are people ridiculing him. He needs to get some kind of software that instantly shuts down his computer once he posts something ridiculous on here. Like a timeout for idiocy.
