Who is this dumb bitch that McCain picked as VP Nominee?

Quote from Cutten:

Yeah I agree with you to a degree - attitudes and culture definitely matter. I don't think there's anything wrong, let alone racist in pointing that out. However, Asians in the US have good educational scores and achievements, and still get racism too. So that argument doesn't explain it. All this "blacks bring it on themselves" is just rationalisation for prejudiced fucks to indulge their sick world view and frustrations - it's not like only dropout loser black people get racist discrimination...educated, successful, law-abiding people get it too.

If you're white or the most populous race in whatever country you live in, it's a real eye opener when you hear of or witness some of the goings on from someone who isn't. If you're in the majority, you don't even think of that because you never have to face it (unless you go to like an all Asian club, try to marry a Muslim, or enter a rap contest in a ghetto or something like that). Some examples I've either seen or heard of from non-white friends, acquaintences, ex-girlfriends:

1) Going to a job interview, and the interviewer clearly shocked to see she isn't white (her name gives no hint she is mixed race). Interviewer gives an extremely abrupt 10 min question session and calls it off, when it was scheduled for 30 mins, despite the candidate being totally qualified. The guy doesn't want to shake hands at the end, and finally when he does, afterwards he wipes his hand in distaste. Surprisingly enough she doesn't even get a rejection letter. I'd like to hear Pabst's explanation for that.
2) A guy I know is on a bus at night. Some drunk young lads get on, and start cracking a few racially-charged jokes. Eventually it degenerates into out of order abuse, friend tells them shut up (not so politely) and they try to attack him. He basically pastes them all. Police get called, my friend gets charged with assault despite them starting it, and him being outnumbered - he is easily acquitted thanks to the bus camera footage. Drunk assailants don't get charged at the time OR after the footage is seen. Can you guess which protagonists were black and which white? If that had been the other way round, how do you think it would have turned out?
3) Another friend works at the university here, in a menial job. Some old dude starts a campaign of sustained and pretty nasty racial harrassment against him. Friend complains to management, nothing happens, then a month or two later *he* is fired.
4) Numerous comments, stares, racist assumptions (from all types) etc when I've dated someone who isn't white. Some people seem to think that being the same race as your gf gives them some place to poke their nose in; others are just horrified at the whole situation...not necessarily dating, but the prospect of kids & marriage freaks out even a lot of so-called liberals lol.
5) One of my ex gfs was the only non-white person at her school - a couple of her teachers literally told her she "didn't belong here" and basically went out of their way not to teach her properly.

So just a few examples off the top of my head. If that's what I have seen or heard from people I know, there must be far more for people who have to deal with that crap regularly. That's why I find it rather ridiculous when people like Pabst and others try to claim it is a non-issue. Sorry but that doesn't wash when I see real people getting crap for nothing other than their skin tone. I find it quite frankly offensive when he spouts off as if online rhetoric somehow has more reality and validity than real people's actual experiences of prejudice and BS. Your teacher is a racist fuck who deliberately isolates and marginalises you, and this is supposed to have no effect? I guess it was their fault all along? Come on, I'm all ears, I want to hear some valid explanation for all this.
Wow, thanks for the posts Cutten.

And yes, it's all true and then some. Frankly this point-of-view exists in all environments except those where the people are more enlightened or aware (n their own mind) or where the caucasian is from europe and has a differnt perspective than that expoused here in America (which actually, has more than its share of racism, contrary to what you just said).

I had to deal with this type of behavior at my church, and I didn't hesitate to let the non-white leadership know what was happening. It straightened-out, but there is still a certain smugness there which I really don't care for.

Guess who won't be giving tithe at tht church ... man oh man, they don't have a clue.

You mean her?

:p

Descrimination has never been about skin color, NEVER, not now, not yesterday, or even 5000 yrs ago....... it has always been about class. It was blacks that captured blacks in Africa and brought them to the sea ports by chains to be sold to Europeans. It was a class issue, blacks that lived in houses, wore clothes, were the oppressors of the blacks that lived naked out in huts.

Slaves in Roman house holds were often white..... like their masters, It was a class issue....

This is repeated over and over..... traceable back to Egyptians

That black kid that walks behind the old lady clutching her purse.... shes not clutching her purse because he's black, shes clutching her purse because he is from the ghetto who happens to be black. Blacks fear other blacks for the exact same reason..... its a matter of class..... thats where discrimination comes from. If you live in an upscale house, in an upscale neighborhood, who would you NOT want moving in next to you, a family of loud rednecks with crappy cars and messy front lawn, or a quite black couple with high end BMWs?

There is only one form of true discrimination based on COLOR , and that is affirmative action.

This thread only has a "3" rating. Must be a load of crap just like the immature title of this thread is.

This thread is one of the most read and commented on because it struck a nerve in both those who agree and disagree with it.

I think it's clear that a large % of people believe that Palin is both 'dumb' and a 'bitch.'

As many conservatives have commented, she should do McCain a favor, and bow out (though I hope she doesn't).

Peggy Noonan dissed her sorry ass when she thought her mic was off. :p

it's like she almost wanted to ask the exact same question as the thread title:

"Who is this dumb bitch that Mccain picked as VP Nominee?"

LOL

Is it true? Can Americans be so dumb witted, so ignorant, so stupid as to elect a woman who:

1. Belives if your 13yr old daughter gets kidnapped, savagely gang raped by 6 maniacs, should NOT be allowed to get an abortion!!!

2. Believes movies and books like "Harry Potter" is an abdomination to God and should be banned!!

3. Goes to get blessed by a self proclaimed "witch hunter"

4. Goes to a church that speaks in tongues!!!!!

5. Is knowledgable in foreign affairs because she can "see Russia" from her house.

6. Believes the earth is only 5000 years old!!!!!!!!!!!!

7. Repeats lies over and over again like a broken record (bridge to no where, jet on ebay, trooper gate, etc)

8. Changed 6 colleges in 6 years!!!!!

9. Claims she will shake up washington.... knowing damn well the president has no executive powers that grants such action.

10. Keeps saying in a high squeal pitch the words "hockey mom" over and over..... like a parrot.

For just about every one of your examples, I can give you the other side from a personal basis. Would you call it racist if I and a group of black friends don't allow you or any other white person to participate in something that we do? And what is your recourse if we don't? There are those who'd tell you that there's nothing that we could have that kind of control of that you'd want to be involved in because we're a minority. Are you so sure?

Racism is not just framed around all educational scores. Agreed! But is an unnecessary limiter. In my community there is a cultural resistance to do something as simple as acknowledge the need and value of mastering good english. Noun, verb agreement is not required, desired, or practiced. And in many cases not valued. And that's not a function of the schooling either.

We can both provide plenty of supporting arguments for our positions, but the bottom line is we have to exist and flourish in spite of the rocky terrain. To that end, I do propose and promote over compensation as a viable strategy for the disadvantaged. And rather than waiting for the green light of regulation, I'd rather provide the alternative highway access. :)
