It doesn't take a genius in economics to know that spending 12 billion a month in Iraq doesn't make much economic sense
so what's your point? we are already there. if you think obama will actually be able to remove the troops, you are dreaming. Great rhetoric, but won't happen until things there change.

Obama has decleared his choice would have been to go to afganistain ,not Iraq. His plan is to send all the Iraq troops to Afghan.
Does he believe that such a policy could develop into 4000 more deaths and 12 billion a month?
This is the big change he is promising......moving the troops to another broken country. Do you think Iran , and the terrorists might fight us there?
Obama thinks we are in a civil war and that is the cause of the deaths, and by moving 400 miles away we will find peace.
I used to be confused how such a smart guy (Obama), had no clue about macro economics. Then I heard that he was close to two of his Marxist professors. That explained everything. This wasn't that long ago either. The guy is my age. Marxism was dead well before the 80's, except in academia.
I am not saying that Obama wants a Marxist state, but he is definitely interested in wealth redistribution. The wealthy have too much in his opinion. Nice thought in utopia, but the fact remains that the top 5% already pays 50%+ of the taxes, and more importantly, create shitloads of jobs. Many of the top 5% are entrepreneurs owning small to medium companies that employ the bulk of the work force. Obama wants to tax the crap out of these guys, and then spend the money in the most inefficient way possible. Government programs usually burn through half the money in admin expenses. It's just idiotic. Bush hasn't done well either, but this thread is about Obama.

Republicans have always been the better party when it comes to smearing people and using scare tactics and innuendo based on nothing.
The Democrats are lame idiots when it comes to that. I mean how on earth did George W. manage to win and come off as tougher than Kerry when Kerry was a war veteran? Simply put Kerry wimped out by not publicly and critically calling Bush down for being a shadow of a military man. He wasn't nasty enough.
For that matter how did W. prevail over McCain? The outcome suggests Americans prefer politicians who can fight dirty. Current American politics is the human and political principles portrayed in The Lord of the Flies on prominent display.
Not surprising either that the US has regressed just as predicted. Yet there are still Americans out there who would put party (tribal) affiliation ahead of common sense.
Kerry lost it at the convention when he "reported for duty" and saluted at the podium.
At that point in time the Dems felt thay had to show strong support for the war and the fight against terrorism...So yes, Kerry had the war record, but also a very ugly post war record, heading up Vets against the Vietnam war.
Now the Dems have flipped on the war to match the polls.
