Who do you want to win the war?

Quote from MondoTrader:

What is more dangerous:

1. Democracy

2. Dictatorship

pretty simple decision for those who understand both systems.

In MOST cases, the obvious answer is Democracy. But for those of us who understand that absolutes are stupid and that there are usually exceptions to the rule, it would be left up to a comparison of specific examples over broad generalizations that aren't useful in political analysis anyways.

Quote from Madison:

exactly the point. so long as it's America's standard, Americans seem to have little problem with it, which makes perfect sense.

the problem is what if China (or Pakistan, or Russia, or whichever country with substantial military power) decides that it's standards should apply instead, and those standards are in conflict with America's. that is the reason the rules are supposed to be agreed upon and enforced by consensus, isn't it?

...and the three counties you just mentioned ; china ( mao killed about 20 million) Russia ( stalin and lenin to gorbachev about 25-30 million) and Pakistan (musaref about 1 million)...are poster childs of deciding what is right and wrong in the world....Throw in Germany and it's 10 million and basically you would have one of the ten most populated countries in the world if they hadn't of crushed resistance....

MSFE THINKS SADAMS REGIME IS A DEMOCRACY. He he.

Pick N Click, tell me ONE Democracy that is more dangerous than ONE Dictatorship. I'm talking real life here, not poli sci theory.

Quote from alfonso:

"I'm afraid" is a figure of speech, Optional. I'm not actually fearful (nor ashamed), I just prefer not to state where I live.

I'm not sure what you were attempting to imply by the German immigrants comment, but I can assure you that the chances of YOU being a German immigrant (why the italics?), given that you live in the United States, are far higher than mine.

This all beside the point, anyway.
If you want to play these pre-teen games, find someone else.

My nationality and where I live have no bearing at all on my opinions on this matter. (As much as you might like to believe otherwise.)

My guess is Australia........

and clearly, at least two of them disagree strongly with the American system of governing its citizens...

Government Iraq

Every time you open your mouth,,,,shit or sperm from a french man's mouth dribbles out!!!!...Saddam got 99.9 % of the vote in the last election ........even a sheep with it's ass shaved wouldn't garner 99% of the french men to attack it....You get more pathetic with each post.. Iaq as a democracy is kind of liek using the term "Frecnh Army"

Quote from MondoTrader:

"So you think we should invade countries that terrorize their citizens?? "

Absolutely. And as the only remaining super power and the strongest Democracy on earth, we actually have a RESPONSIBILITY to do so. We have double responsibility in Iraq since we got mixed up with him in the 1980's.

There is self interest in this whole thing, but it is simply to attack our natural enemies to insure our own survival. That is what WWII was about, that is what the cold war was about, and that is what Gulf War II is about.

Mondo, again you hit the nail on the head!

Of course, exactly what constitutes "terrorizing their citizens" is a pretty tricky issue, so I submit America simply attacks all non-democratic countries (and she might want to look at herself first).

I tell ya folks, with Mondo and the gang at the helm, we're gonna carve out global democracy if it kill us! (Of course, we'll pave the road to glory with a few million corpses, but who cares! Great leaders understand that sacrifices have to be made!)

Is it in our interests to save the people of Rwanda and Burundi from genocide? How about the poor people under that terrorist Mugabe? Should we make political killings by the CIA and mercenaries the norm? http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/02/06/1044498914661.html
How far do we go???
