You're correct in your statement. The schools I've been at, with 95% of the kids getting free lunch due to income in the household, are highly single parent (or grandma or guardian) households. And teachers tell me that maybe 10% of the parents ever come to parent-teacher conferences. Contrast that to middle class parents who likely have a parents and often 2 incomes and take a more active role in their kids education. And not making this a racial thing but it's a sold fact that black kids have a father in the house about 25% of the time. So Mom, often with minimal education, is working at something low paying, the family receives assistance (food stamps, section 8 housing, Medicaid). Mom often has more kids than she can take care of. So Mom then doesn't have the time or energy to be attentive to the kids -- help them with homework. Two parent families don't have all these challenges.

It's highly correlated statistically that single parent families living in poverty end up with worse outcomes for their kids as far as educational achievement or likelihood of later criminal activity.

Yet again, DickHead is wrong. According to the census data, 50% more white children are in single-parent homes than are black children.

Plus the lower the income of the persons family the lower the odds of them going to school, so by default, single moms who make less will have less kids who go to school.

Now i want you to post this stanford study you have been talking about that supposedly suggests that the number of parents in a household has no effect on household income.

There are 7,008,000 Latino children in single parent homes amounting to 42% of the households.
There are 9,358,000 white children in single parent homes amounting to 25% of the households.

The proper way to view these figures however is in context as a percentage of the population.
