which to choose

I was part of a class action with emachines (from all the way back in 1999), and my choices are

http://www.emachinesredeem.com/

a) $62.50

b) a desktop computer with a 2.7Ghz Celeron and 2RAM

or

c) a small notebook with a 1Ghz chip that was slow even back in 2011

Not great choices, but it is free. I'm thinking that I might actually use the desktop computer and the chip is fast enough, if I add some RAM. I have some monitors and keyboards and RAM sitting around, so I it wouldn't cost me any extra to set up a desktop computer, though I don't know if I'd ever use it. Maybe I should just take the cash, though it's a shame to pass up a computer . . . And what would I use a small, underpowered notebook for? I could give it away, but it's so slow I don't know who would want it.

Sometimes the least important choices are the toughest . . .

Take the cash and buy a bottle of scottish single malt whiskey that you haven't tasted. I suggest Glenmorangie, Glenfiddisch or Talisker. Good value, specially the latter. Complete the purchase with your own money, if necessary. Invite only your best friend/prospect fiancee for the drinking, on a stormy night and with a good movie or background music playing. That's how I got picked up...

Order some snacks to eat.

Good luck.
