I was part of a class action with emachines (from all the way back in 1999), and my choices are

a) $62.50
b) a desktop computer with a 2.7Ghz Celeron and 2RAM
or
c) a small notebook with a 1Ghz chip that was slow even back in 2011
Not great choices, but it is free. I'm thinking that I might actually use the desktop computer and the chip is fast enough, if I add some RAM. I have some monitors and keyboards and RAM sitting around, so I it wouldn't cost me any extra to set up a desktop computer, though I don't know if I'd ever use it. Maybe I should just take the cash, though it's a shame to pass up a computer . . . And what would I use a small, underpowered notebook for? I could give it away, but it's so slow I don't know who would want it.
Sometimes the least important choices are the toughest . . .
