Quote from jem:
I live in San Diego - I can see or hear similar stuff from the people selling crystals at the swap meets.
Now yours is very good stuff and if I spent years trying to reconcile all the eastern and new age bullshit - I might hope to be as good at selling it as you.
But, I noticed you left out any references to the the source text on Jesus Christ.
If you are going to telling me what Jesus is or is not - I would think you might want to use the source texts for the story?
I mean I am only thinking out loud here but doesn't the bible sort of count as just about the authority on the subject.
For instance if I were going to say that Jean Luc Picard of the Star Ship Enterprise is really not from earth - would I not have to find support for such a statement in star trek episodes.
Or, might I at least argue star trek is a work of fiction.
It would seem illogical for me to say that Jean Luc Picard is real but Star Trek is fiction.
It would seem even sillier for me to say Captain Picard is a Vulcan and I know this because I am well read in other works of science fiction.
Good points, except for the swap meet points.
If you look at my text, there's quotes from Jesus in there. And i use several more. I don't quote verse numbers because that would make the text the lord. Rather, I am the Lord of the text. And I am aware that the text is a mix of wheat and tares. I select the wheat, and put it together in a way that makes sense. I include symbolism as much as text. Actions speak as loud as words. The words are parables, the actions are parodies. I interpret them because parables and parodies are teaching modalities that require correct interpretation to be of benefit to the learner
We both agree that Jesus called himself the Truth went voluntarily to death, only to rise again from the dead a short time later...after which he ascended into the sky in front of witnesses. And these events initiated a great enthusiasm that lasts till this day. But how we interpret these key events is where we differ. I interpret in a way that leads to salvation. Your brand interprets in a way that maintains condemnation...maintains what is already condemned. I explain exactly how and why that is with seemless reasoning.
The truth of Jesus is confused by biased scribes who were attached to the gOd of sacrifice and would not "sell everything they had" to follow Jesus. The *kept* the gOd of sacrifice, and so, sacrificed the truth of Jesus...crucifying his messages. They don't call em "red letter" editions for nothing! The truth of Jesus bleeds through. As it bleeds through, I read between the lines...reading through the biases and agendas of the scribes.
As a rule of thumb, my text is as much intra-biblical as extra-biblical. Look closely and see that I do indeed note well the key points Jesus made. Once it is understood what he was actually talking about, its a snap to interpret the rest of the text, even though it is a filtered message.
Christ!
