Quote from ZZZzzzzzzz:
I am not dismissing science at all, I appreciate all the good that has come from science, and I admire those scientists who actually practice science properly, who don't become dogmatic and rigid in their thinking.
What I am dismissing is the hubris of scientists and their fundamentalist followers who think they got it all figured out, and necessarily exclude other possibilities.
My eyes are not closed at all, and I am not following the Bible to the letter, thanks anyway....
That said, the chicken came before the egg....

u are kiddin me now, arent u...what the fuck are those other possibilities if they cant be observed and calculated: scientists are trained to think rationally and to come up with reasonable conclusions that stay inside the boundaries of science, they are not taught to consider an extraordinary event when tryin' to come up with an explanation ...there would not be a way of provin it, innit. jeeez

Show me the observations of the creation of the universe, please.
observations are based on calculations and physical laws, they are not direct observations for obvious reasons..i got nothin' to show u, am not an astrophysicist and cannot deal with pure maths. i can only tell u that i dont accept the big bang shite as it is consider a singularity as well and that would imply that physical laws at that moment in time fell apart.
Show me the observations of the end of the universe, or the limits of the universe, please.
i can only show u observations that the universe is expandin' and creatin' new limits: galaxies are receding from us at a velocity directly proportional to their distance, this has been proven trough the study of of the spectra of light emitted from nearby galaxies. the light comin from many galaxies was shifted towards the red , or the longer wavelength--end of spectrum. this means that they are movin' away from us while they also move away from each other. it also means that galaxies are not movin' away trough space but they are movin' away WITH space, as space expand it self. therefore the conclusion is that the universe is in continuos expansion and there are apparently NO LIMITS, until maybe there would be not enough matter and the universe could begin to contract. this is not, i repeat, not a theory it is a fact, proven after calculation and direct observation: u can see it for uself usin a powerful telescope pointin at alpha centauri.
Show me the observations of the source of the laws of nature.
ths is crap, i told u before it cannot be observed, but can be explained out as part of the structure of "our" universe when was newborn: a sphere created on the opposite side of a black hole--a white hole containin' its own physical laws. maybe other parallel universes with their own laws born by the aberration of time and space exist also, there are darin' theories about it.
Maybe, could be, possibly, we speculate, missing link....
we dont speculate we observe and come to possible conclusions not religious dreams that have no way to be proved or disproved.
Oh yeah baby, maybe baby...
Science is bound by the level of human intellect and the tools we have to perceive the material world.
If you are suggesting that human intellect is sufficient to create the universe, and if you are suggesting that human senses and tools that we have developed are sufficient to observe all within the universe.....
i never suggested that, infact our intervention is not even necessary under some astrophysics theories. neither i have suggested that we have the tolls already...we sure will have them tho.
Come on bitty boy...

For obvious reasons, you don't have the position in which to make a definitive conclusions....
Nice try though.
Oh, and the idea that the universe is expanding is taken from what fixed point of view?
ROTFLMAO.....
Quote from Bitstream:
lemme help u out: imagine a baloon and use a crayon to paint dots [galaxies] all over this baloon...inflate the ballon and what u see happenin' it is very close to what happens to galaxies..that's as close as it can get for people with poor imagination.
Quote from ZZZzzzzzzz:
A balloon has a limited, measurable size, and we can perceive the entire balloon separate from it..
Try doing that with the Universe....
Quote from Bitstream:
oh man, it was to give u a practical example. it has been done, calculated and observed, what the fcuk do u want more..all, ALL the freakin' galaxies act this way all of 'em. man there are laws that govern our planet, our lives AND our universe, everythin' has a cause and an effect. are u tryin' to refute even the most basic facts of astronomy that are taught at primary school?
