where have all the traders gone?

Quote from Steve Tvardek:

Most people only look for the bad things on here instead of seeking out things that could make them a better trader. I guess thats why so many fail at this business!:D

Nice hypothesis but I suspect the failing is more likely to lead to the negativity rather than the other way around.

Not that I wish to imply that negativity implies that one is an unsuccessful trader - I think that this game attracts social misfits etc and we see them all at T2W and ET. I got into trading because I like numbers and patterns and got sick of having bosses - which is not a sign of someone who's good at sucking up to everyone and making them feel good :)

Jasmine, I suspect that the above thoughts may have a lot to do with he way these places degenerate. I also think there is a pattern/cycle where people ask or help and then gradually find it all tedious (or get insulted once or twice) and the way they use this particular toilet deteriorates.

Yuck! Time I took a break again.

The things people believe in are usually just what they instinctively feel is right; the justifications and arguments are the least important part of the belief. That's why you can win the argument, prove them wrong, and still they believe what they did in the first place. You've attacked the wrong thing.
So what do you do? Agree to disagree. Or fight. - C. Zakalwe.

steve - would you point out a day as an example from the recent past - thx in advance.

I work a system that keeps me out until the market shows me a significant intraday move to trade.

Where have all the traders gone?
Long time passing.
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Many a tear has to fall,
but it's all
in the game.

From what I have seen, it shouldn't be 1%. That is too much. Try .1%. That is more realistic.
you got to watch those decimal places

IMHO, the most vocal here are the most inexperienced - -those with something to offer simply get drowned out.

A great example is when I asked who had read all the terms & conditions imposed by the retail fx broker/dealers and was told nobody ever has problems with them and its all cool.

Quote from ozzy:

I find it amusing how some of you trash ET, yet you keep coming back to it.

I enjoy sifting through ET threads looking for information. I find people who are knowledgeable and attempt to learn from them. If possible I try to incorporate their ideas onto my overall system/strategy (or at least keep their ideas in mind for a later date when I will be able to make use of it). There is a lot of information here.

I wanted to apologize for calling you a punk!

I was having a bad day...

I wish you lots of success in your trading endeavors. :)

Hey Samson.

No problem. The reason I was rude was because I found your response a little condescending. My comment was general and I agree with your view point that experience in trading is very important.

Take care and Good Luck as well.

Seems that there are a new generation here once again.

I note that ripley made the second post ... which is interesting given his current theme :)
