Currently, the US doesn't get to choose a leader. Money drives the campaign and before anyone gets to actually choose, both leaders have been vetted by the money interests that fund their campaigns. The people choose between the pre-selected few.
It is sad that those who trust the government most to save them, may end up being hurt the most in the end.
