Ok the minute they invade ( which I doubt they will ) this thread becomes somewhat relevant. Of course, you likely got the direction wrong and forgot to mention what to BUY BUY BUY. Please tell me what I should buy if they invade I'm thinking HQD might be good

Apparently you do not realize that Putin is not the only Russian who will decide what will happen. He will have to watch the financial interests of the Russian oligarchs too.
These oligarchs almost all live outside of Russia, which confirms that living in Russia is not the best place to be. Most of them live in London.
Boris Johnson has confirmed that if Ukraine is invaded all oligarchs will have to leave the UK. Abramovich already many years has lost his visa for the UK, so he does not live there anymore. He was forced to apply for Israeli nationality. He cannot live or work in the UK anymore and cannot stay longer than 6 months.
These oligarchs care more about living a decadent lifestyle in London then to invade Ukraine. An invasion in Ukraine will bring them no money, but will cost them money. And most of the attractive places to live will not accept these Russians anymore.
Putin has control, but if he gets in trouble with these oligarchs, it can cause him big problems too. There are rumors that there were in past already a few attempts to poison Putin.
When Russia crashed in 1991, and Russian started to fight to catch some companies cheap, there were many Russian concurrents killed. Russian have no real problem with killing others.

Hahaha, fair enough. But I was totally convinced Russia was going in. By the logic in my original few posts, i.e. all bad news being out at that point, it would point even moreso to BUY BUY BUY if Russia does not invade - i.e. supposed bad news actually turning out to be not bad news.
