How do you know what the markets will do until they do it? There's the crux. I think you're using a bit-of-guesslucking in your inverse plays because of Fed and Putin.

Words on the street is invasion is happening on Wednesday 2/16/22. Could today be the day to get paid?

When Putin invaded Crimea it was not on the street. The simple and logical reason is that you don't give away your advantage of a surprise attack to the enemy.
The vote was fraudulent, even ex-Russian government specialists said so. There were no outside monitors either. Many Russian citizens voted who were just in Crimea for a few months.
Months before there was a poll on whether to join Russia, only 30% of the people supported it. That's the real "consensus" you're talking about.
NATO is a defensive organization and it's absolutely a necessity that countries which don't want to become Russian puppet states (like Kazakhstan, Moldova) join. Without NATO Russia would have been bombing eastern Europe years earlier.
US is not getting anyone to join. Countries are lining up to join. Most of these countries are well versed on Russia and how it operates. No-one wants to live next to a psychopathic neighbor like Russia.
