When Mentoring

Quote from LeeD:

You have earned my respect for being open about embarrassing moments of the trading career.

Thank you. In trading, the sooner you shrink your ego, the better chance you have of growing your trading account.

Quote from lescor:

You can't teach passion. Period. I have people approach me all the time wanting to 'get into trading'. I always tell them the same thing, that trading is not a career where you take a course, learn it then start working. It's not like being a plumber or engineer or mechanic. I tell them it's more like being a musician or artist.

I have to agree with Lescor and disagree with LeeD. I am an artist and the very successful ones at the top of my field work 18 hours a day and have a beeper on. They started out very young but today, provide the top quality of art that there is. They do live and breathe the job.

With respect to trading, I am dedicated and keep journals but people who work in a trading environment every day, surrounded by harsh and/or helpful mentors are lucky in that they are not alone, on their own, in trading.
