What's the deal with these constant late day rallies?

Quote from Blue_Bull:

I'm not gonna step in and short it. It's just that I was pretty sure we'd get the pull-back, at which point I was hoping to open some swing positions.

Instead we're getting an upward drift, but I don't want to go long at these levels. It doesn't feel like a breakout to me, so I'm not gonna chase it.

Basically I'm stuck on the sideline, and it's kind of annoying. Beats losing money though, for sure!

I have an idea how you feel. In the last year we've had maybe only 6 retracements in the S&P 500 (I wanted to verify on prophet.net and see it's no longer in operation lol) so it might take a while before we get another retracement. I feel safer getting in during a retracement.

I tend not to worry so much about the why of things, the answer might be too complex and sometimes we find ourselves wasting endless time trying to find it when we really don't need to.

I prefer to spot strong trending instruments and look for an opening regardless as to why things happened or are happening.
