Instead we're getting an upward drift, but I don't want to go long at these levels. It doesn't feel like a breakout to me, so I'm not gonna chase it.

I have an idea how you feel. In the last year we've had maybe only 6 retracements in the S&P 500 (I wanted to verify on prophet.net and see it's no longer in operation lol) so it might take a while before we get another retracement. I feel safer getting in during a retracement.
