Ethereum network fees (tx fees) are high in terms of fiat $ terms. I've complained about this on many posts, as it affects all Ethereum crypto assets not just USDT, i.e. Pepe, Uni, Eth, ERC-xxx tokens...

I try to avoid Ethereum blockchain, another reason Solana and Solana crypto assets are doing well

I prefer to use USDT on the Binance Smart Chain, but it's not too easy for US crypto users

I think Coinbase supports Arbitrum L2 where the network tx fees are much lower, also they are pushing Base, their own L2 for Ethereum

Depends on your use-case needs, if it's for DeFi, Solana, BSC, Arbitrum are better than Ethereum mainnet because of network fees

Of course I have acquired usdt erc-20 from Coinbase, when I needed for DeFi but I swapped some Eth for usdt on Coinbase Advanced Trade platform, same same

But the usual crypto boy does not include commissions when talking about their coins.

So I point that is not as stable as it might seem.

Such an interesting business what Coinbase is running. They are ripping off customers with Tether, hence the original question. And a hilarious practice on Binance, they don't accept dollars to buy the USDT pair :D:D. What the heck?

That high that OP asked the question in order to buy somewhere else. Also you only have to go through the link I posted. Reddit is full of users complaining about commissions.

Are you now defending a crypto exchange? Is that the he last step of crypto boys? Defend the ones that rip you off?

Crypto exchanges are famous for insane spreads and stupidly high commissions.

It's not about defending Coinbase, it's about providing useful information

Coinbase will fuck you in the ass if you use the buy/sell buttons on the website, the spread on btc is something like $500-600 plus trading fees (commissions)

I know about this since I'm a long time Coinbase user and I use the Coinbase trading platform which used to be called Coinbase Pro, now called Coinbase Advanced Trade platform

The Coinbase Advanced Trade platform is for traders utilizing the order book and the trading fees are competitive to other trading sites, like IB, Robinhood, Charles Schwab

So in summary, don't use the Coinbase rapist site, use the Coinbase Advanced Trading platform site, your Coinbase account is good for both, if you are logged in to Coinbase and you go to Coinbase Trading platform, it will automatically be logged in/connected to your account, you can transfer fiat funds and crypto assets instantly between the rapist Coinbase account to the trading platform site

Do you understand all the things I'm telling you, Mr Ms C Senior Software Engineer? :D

I don't know, fucking TradFi bullshits, but then again, Binance dot com and other sites have similar separations between fiat accounts, spot trading accounts, futures trading accounts

Probably to segregate the funds and assets, something FTX didn't do and commingled everything and stole everything, even the investor funds

Anyway, back to Coinbase, just like an account with Bank of America would have savings, checking, and then stock trading you can open a separate account, and credit card account and he(loc), all separate(?) but all integrated

Ethereum network tx fees have to be paid... I doubt Coinbase Pro will pay for the fees, but who knows, I haven't tried, I lost Coinbase Pro as it became Coinbase Advanced Trade for me, but maybe it's morphed to the big money accounts i.e. insititutional investors, althought I thought their service was called Coinbase Prime

Either way, does not interest me, I'd rather pay fees than leave too much at risk at Coinbase ______
