Whats going on with all these people ready to give up their rights?

Why is this so hard to understand but speaks volumes why South Korea could control this and we in the U.S. are spreading this virus like fucktards.

Tis been the underlying question, will the US pull together and sacrifice for the common good or will self-interests win out.

China or some of the other more socialist countries have the upper hand controlling their citizens. Here in the US, individual rights, freedoms have a higher priority.

That doesn't negate to need for common sense.

Regarding skiing and the virus and young people vs old people...

I thought this was an interesting data point from Germany... which had a link from Drudge.

“There has been talk of a German anomaly,” said Hendrik Streeck, director of the Institute of virology at the University Hospital Bonn. Professor Streeck has been getting calls from colleagues in the United States and elsewhere.

“‘What are you doing differently?’ they ask me,” he said. “Why is your death rate so low?”

There are several answers to this question, experts say, a mix of statistical distortions and very real differences in how the country has taken on the epidemic.

The average age of those infected is lower in Germany than in many other countries. Many of the early patients caught the virus in Austrian and Italian ski resorts and were relatively young and healthy, Professor Kräusslich said.

“It started as an epidemic of skiers,” he said.

As infections have spread, more older people have been hit and the death rate, only 0.2 percent two weeks ago, has risen, too. But the average age of contracting the disease remains relatively low, at 49. In France, it is 62.5 and in Italy 62, according to their latest national reports.

Another explanation for the low fatality rate is that Germany has been testing far more people than most nations. That means it catches more people with few or no symptoms, increasing the number of known cases, but not the number of fatalities.

So now if you attend a religious service, the government will track you and force you into quarantine(House Arrest) for 14 days. The first Amendent goes a litte something like this

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

They are now making it illegal to practice religion and to peaceably assemble.

Absolutely crazy shit is going on.

The right to breathe in asbestos dust after the towers fell. They denied me the right to the pursuit of happiness.

Hey man, if some people's ideas of true freedom and happiness is the right to die from asbestos dust, who are "they" to deny them that right? LOL

Another post that has not aged well.

1st amendment is not an absolute right to do whatever you want, even more so when there is a health crisis.

We could cite numerous examples showing this to be the true and both conservative and liberal judges have found so in the Supreme Court.

Another slow one.

Another slow one.

Oi! You know, maybe religion should be illegal during a pandemic, when it threatens the lives of everyone around them.

Ever heard of the Inquisition? If you did not convert, you were destroyed. So the Knights Templar were like a virus also, during the Crusades!

Wheeee!
