what was your aha moment when you first started trading?

If you do not have a trading edge, you have no business being in the stockmarket. Otherwise, all you will need is lots of monies to throw away over and over again. At ET, a lot of traders have no concept of trading edge and continue to trade based on gut feeling, luck, etc. They will continue to lose monies and blow up accounts and keep wondering what the problem is?

So unless one has an edge, there is no possibility of making money, ever. You are a genius!

That statement sentence is incredibly profound, but yet, strangely,.a ton of traders, people and gamblers...seem to delude themselves thinking they are divinely, magically, special...and they will win plenty of money and successes.

And they become shocked and depressed when they suffer the inevitable losses. And wonder why God hates them, and why he is not showering them with wins, money and successes,

I was trading long before some of you guys were born, and I continue to have aha experiences to this day.
My trading has turned upside down and back to front to what it used to be.
Some stuff I vowed was TA nonsense, I now implement.
We don't really know where we're going, when you discover something it can send you down a new path you never dreamed of.
Probably the most significant aspect of trading which has affected me is coding and maths in trading, without that I couldn't operate, or rather, be trading blind.
I was fortunate in that I failed my final year at college and so repeated that year, a lightbulb came on in my head that repeat year and I became a maths fan, previously I had failed my maths exams.
Anyways, I trade my own created algos and not a year goes by (so far) that I don't create something unique to me that doesn't not change my trading style.
Most maths ideas come via experimenting and accident.
Recently (few months back) I was looking at Heikin-Ashi charts which I was unfamiliar with and decided to code it into an algo which I did, but the result left me feeling I could improve on it. So after several days mulling about it came up with a new trading method, which I'd never thought of before. This led to more algo writing which resulted in me re-writing some old favourite algos into a new format. It never ends, one thing starts and leads to another idea.
Then after all that I arrived at a new idea again on how best to trade to be more efficient, so currently I'm about to dump maybe 50 positions I hold, into a more efficient system, note currently I hold about 80 odd stock positions.
We run a strange household, my wife and I, she is a night owl and works at home all night, I'm a weirdo, awake at any time of the day or night, frequently studying the markets from 2am and right throughout the day, 7 days a week.
I was once a semi gold bug, now hate gold, once a crypto critic, now can't wait to get onboard it, that is trade the cypto waves.
One thing is certain, aha moments just keep coming.

So far so good. The osephegus cancer every 3 months they operate, they say they've now got rid of the cancer there, but they still go looking at the area, November back again to theatre.
Ear cancer, they were going to lop part my ear off this month, about 20%, but I've requested they hold off a month because I'm treating it in a different way they suggest which I think may reverse some of the affected area. It's been a couple of weeks now, still early but it looks like I could be winning. :)

Oy vey,

My statement was sarcastic. You do not read well. And drop the Jewish/Yiddish BS with oy vey, you do not carry it well. Why are you faking being a Jew with your avatar pic?
