What To Expect With A Trump Presidency

Yeah, the guy is brash and in your face-- but people seem to love him as he represents change and improvement for the United States. Letting a businessman (finally) run the nation, makes sense--right?

I recently spoke at a Family Office Investment conference in Palm Beach. I chaired a panel of asset managers and asked the question about a Trump presidency. Overwhelmingly, the managers feared for the stock market should Trump be elected. They expect a massive sell off due to the uncertainty of what to expect with him. They firmly believed that Clinton would be much better for the economy since we already know what to expect with her. This belief was across the board even with the Trump supporters.

Remember, the market hates uncertainty- Trump is uncertainty despite likely being positive for the long run.

George Bush was our first "MBA President". How did that work out?

Bush wanted to (1) impress his daddy for being a war president, and (2) be dictator of America. What's that got to do with "MBA"?

Most of CONgress are lawyers... and they disregard the law whenever it suits them.

Trump has hit the nail on the head. AMERICA IS FUCKED! The establishment running America is fucked! And if something isn't done about it, the future of our country is grim. (Personally I think it's already too late, but I'm trying to be hopeful.)

All the more reason to think Trump is exactly what we need.

Market corrections provide new opportunities.

I think you are right-- Trump gets elected, the markets will sell off sharply for several weeks, maybe months, then roar back to new highs within the next 24 months----

George Bush was our first "MBA President". How did that work out?

I don't think Bush ever ran a company , let alone multiple like Trump.

Just having an MBA isn't saying much in the real life business world-- MBA's are mostly middle managers--right?

It's interesting, even though it's random and probably irrelevant, but I remember reading various sci-fi novels of future Earth, future US, etc. And in some the President is actually called the CEO, not the President. It does make a lot of sense.

I believe congress has more influence over market conditions through taxes, regulations and budgets. Uncertainty is certainly bad for the markets and if democrats close the gap in other elections, you will have more uncertainty.
