Read up on this forum, mate. Have a look at the cast of characters. Everyone in this thread apart from yourself is adamantly against Obama, and certainly everyone in this thread is vehemently against spending.

As for you telling us which way the wind blows, you started off on the wrong foot when you suggested that there should be a class B vote that foreigners should get to allow them a say in what transpires here. We already have loose voting laws and that type of talk pisses us off. And I don't mean like "taking the piss" either.

That we effect everyone else more than they do us should tell you our policies are (were) better.. so you should strive to be more like us instead of trying to get us to be more like you. As someone else pointed out, the issue of trade is entirely separate.. if you don't like the policies of another nation then don't deal with them. Surely it's obvious that there is a conflict of interest if trade partners get a say in the policies of a nation they trade with. As fucked up as we are the rest are just as bad or worse. Sovereign nations make their own decisions, why don't you just worry about fixing your own country.

Obviously only a a few extremists are against Obama at all costs here on ET. The same group that seem to be against the US participating in the global economy.

The thinking side of the ET'er welcome learning, especially learning about global economics and it's impact on US.

Isolationism has never worked, and only really narrow minds support it. I welcome what others think, and it has helped make me lots of money over the decades.

We pulled Europes nuts out of the fire twice. If we hadn't intervened in WWII, how many millions more would have died? One reason Europe has turned into the nanny state is because they didn't have to worry about defense. Uncle Sam to the rescue is their defense policy.

Name one country that has been more charitable in foreign aid and world disaster assistance? Hell, I'll let you pick any 5 and I bet we still contribute more.

Yeah thanks for joining in at the last moment in WW1 and because of Japan in WW2 to save Western civilisation etc. It was your stupid President Wilson who didn't finish the job so WW2 had to be fought. It was at a price though - we finally paid you guys off in 1979 I think and after giving you bits and bobs here and there.

Apparently according to our Prime Minister we give more aid per GDP than any other country. No wonder he is so welcome in the 3rd world.
