Oh yes, here we jump on board the circular logic. I was raised with this particular one so I know it well.

Because of gods saving grace and the death of his son Jesus(if believed and accepted) we are saved and free from the law. BUT....BUT... BUT.. BUT, BUT *IF* we don't keep the law afterwards, that is proof that we are just "posers" and weren't really saved. Either way of course the law must be kept or you are not going to heaven.

When logic is applied it, it turns out to be nothing more than a "righteousness by works" trip with a lowered barrier for easy entry.

As I'm sure you're aware, the Old Testament has several groupings including Genesis, the Torah, Histories and Prophets. The Christian is not under obligation to follow the Law that is primarily in the 2nd grouping that I mentioned.

Acts 15:29 Here the Gentiles are very specifically only given four items to follow of the Law including abstaining from meat offered to idols, strangled or blood and fornication.

Rom 7:6 "Now we are delivered from the Law..."

Paul spends three chapters in Galatians arguing aggressively against Christians being under the Law. (Gal 3-5)

Gal 5:18 "But if you are led of the Spirit, you are not under the Law."

Again, I can think of fewer more clear doctrines in the New Testament than we are not under the Law. That's why you would be hard pressed to find any Christian that lives under Jewish Law. (I have never even heard of a cult doing this...)

I am only responding because there may actually be someone out there who actually takes you seriously.

The Law you cited was obviously not intended for every little disobedience of a child. There would be no Jewish nation if they killed all their children for every disobedience!

It was clearly meant for the most extreme of cases.

God created one of the most successful nationalities in history in the Jews and then changed the course of history by creating a gospel ideal for the Genitles. You can criticze Him for this, but the fact is that it has been wildly successful..

As I have pointed out before, the it's working: the gospel is going like wildfire throughout the non-Caucasian planet.

All you're arguing is that you don't like the way God did things. But the fact is that it has been wildly successful.

I definitely believe in capital punishment. I definitely believe in capital punishment. I would have no problem, for example, with the 16 year old boy who serially killed all those people in the DC area being executed.

Why do you think?!?

Because, contrary to what you think, God is practical. Christians can't go in and change the laws of a nation in which they're a small minority! That's a death wish in most countries and you know it...
