What ISIS Really Wants

So placing the blame on Islam per se is misplacing the blame. One could rightfully blame religious stupidity in general and the actions of the US/West, but not really modern Islam as practiced by 2.6 billion Muslims.

Was about to type "what was the US military thinking when they stirred up Middle East like that" but then I realized they don't care at all as that simply means more profits for the defense industry.

You and your buddies more than willing to outline that Christianity is bad because of "outrages" that occurred hundreds of years ago such as the Inquisition or the Crusades further stating that it is a direct reflection on modern Christianity practiced by billions of people. But your response to discussing Islamic outrages is "Too bad that was then and this is now" while further asserting it is not reflective on "modern Islam as practiced by 2.6 billion Muslims". You can't have it both ways... which is it.

Are the actions of a religion hundreds of years ago directly reflective of the religion today and tied into the modern era? If so then you can easily make a case that Islam has been waging war on Christians and others since 800AD while the Christians across the Europe and world attempted to defend themselves. In this case the modern conflicts are merely an extension of this centuries old war.

"TheReligionofPeace.com is a pluralistic, non-partisan site concerned with Islam's true political and religious teachings according to its own texts. We present the threat that Islam poses to human dignity and freedom, and we document the violence that ensues as a direct consequence of this religion's supremacist teachings."

No, they will not object. Nor will Israeli loyalist neocons or power-crazed politicians or even a hysterical, ignorant, war-loving citizenry. Plenty of blame to go around

Just as Christians have been waging war on MEs from the same time and before. So, yes, "modern conflicts are merely an extension of this centuries old war."

Could you finally be getting this?

So you are admitting that Muslims have been violently attacking Christians and other religions for centuries to drive world domination of their religion. It appears you are finally getting that the modern conflicts are simply a justified and expected extension of the conflict that has gone on for over 1000 years involving the world defending itself against violent Islamic jihadists.

"The first Crusade began in 1095… 460 years after the first Christian city was overrun by Muslim armies, 457 years after Jerusalem was conquered by Muslim armies, 453 years after Egypt was taken by Muslim armies, 443 after Muslims first plundered Italy, 427 years after Muslim armies first laid siege to the Christian capital of Constantinople, 380 years after Spain was conquered by Muslim armies, 363 years after France was first attacked by Muslim armies, 249 years after the capital of the Christian world, Rome itself, was sacked by a Muslim army, and only after centuries of church burnings, killings, enslavement and forced conversions of Christians.

By the time the Crusades finally began, Muslim armies had conquered two-thirds of the Christian world.

Europe had been harassed by Muslims since the first few years following Muhammad’s death. As early as 652, Muhammad’s followers launched raids on the island of Sicily, waging a full-scale occupation 200 years later that lasted almost a century and was punctuated by massacres, such as that at the town of Castrogiovanni, in which 8,000 Christians were put to death. In 1084, ten years before the first crusade, Muslims staged another devastating Sicilian raid, burning churches in Reggio, enslaving monks and raping an abbey of nuns before carrying them into captivity.

In 1095, Byzantine Emperor, Alexius I Comneus began begging the pope in Rome for help in turning back the Muslim armies which were overrunning what is now Turkey, grabbing property as they went and turning churches into mosques. Several hundred thousand Christians had been killed in Anatolia alone in the decades following 1050 by Seljuk invaders interested in 'converting' the survivors to Islam.

Not only were Christians losing their lives in their own lands to the Muslim advance but pilgrims to the Holy Land from other parts of Europe were being harassed, kidnapped, molested, forcibly converted to Islam and occasionally murdered. (Compare this to Islam’s justification for slaughter on the basis of Muslims being denied access to the Meccan pilgrimage in Muhammad’s time)."

http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Pages/Games-Muslims-Play.htm#crusades

The Crusades began in 1095, when armies of Christians from Western Europe responded to Pope Urban II’s plea to go to war against Muslim forces in the Holy Land. This call was driven by the continued Muslim attacks on the Christian Byzantine Empire centered on Constantinople of which Battle of Manzikert in 1071 was a decisive defeat of the Byzantine army including the capture of Emperor Romanos IV Diogenes by the Muslim Turks.

No, I'm pointing out that "Christians", i.e., "the West", have been attacking MEs since Alexander. You continue to insist that this is about religion. It has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with power.

Seems you're not getting it after all.

Your reply is utter bullshit and shows just how out of touch your perception of reality actually is.

Alexander the Great (356-323BC) predates Christianity (33AD) by about 350 years, the two are completely unrelated. Ancient Greece (Alexander, et al) is not the "West" and was predated by the Persian and Babylonian Empires, both Middle Eastern ..... the Persian Empire first attacked Greece roughly (500BC).

Islam came into being around 600AD and was later considered heretical by the Catholic Church. The Crusades were fought over control of Jerusalem which both religions consider to be Holy or of great religious importance.

As I said, it has nothing to do with religion; it has to do with power. Religion is simply a rationalization. If you want to believe that the conflicts suddenly changed rationale during the Crusades to make them all about religion, that's up to you. But it's stupid.

And, yes, the Persian Empire predated Alexander, but he conquered it and split it up, just like France and England split up the Ottoman Empire after WWI.
