which is distorted by taxes. you can take big risk and get a few percent return and then if you make as much as say phil mickelson you pay 63% of it to fed state and local govt... bringing you back to the rate you can get in treasuries... so why take the risk? There has to be huge return.

There is no crowding out, there is excess demand for saving, not investment.

Don't think people here wouldn't go for it too. It's already the policy of the democrat party, eg register guns, ban certain guns, economic justice. If it's unfair that the rich have more, as Dear Leader Obama teaches us,why shouldn't the people use self help to even up things? We saw in Baltimore what happens when mob violence meets private property. The government abandoned private property owners and instructed the police to basically protect the looters.

Actually the model followed on most countries that fall into dictatorships is for the government to remove the guns from the people.

This allows the thugs supporting the regime using bats and knives to abuse the targeted defenseless people in their homes. The military does not carry out the intimidation, it is government supported street thugs. This is a pattern repeated over and over in history - Stalin, Iran, Nazi Germany, etc.

The only defense is for decent citizens to keep their guns.

Yes, that's why my idea allows home gun ownership. Just not the kind of guns Adam Lanza used.
