What happens when there are too many guns in America

But I was told right here on this forum inanimate objects can’t be blamed and the only way to stop bad guys is to give the good guys the same inanimate objects.

What am I missing here?

Actually, your argument is completely backwards (as is anyone making a similar argument). You can't blame fentanyl at all. Its the people - the drug dealers - who are responsible. Just like the bad guys with guns.

Should drunken driving be illegal? We already have laws covering property damage, bodily harm, manslaughter and such.

Laws covering property damage and bodily harm are civil in nature when done accidentally. So yes, we need a law that ensures that action like driving drunk incurs criminal liability in order to ensure penalties beyond reimbursement are paid despite intentional vs. accidental.

Makes sense. We need a law that ensures that an action like losing your firearm incurs criminal liability in order to ensure penalties beyond reimbursement are paid despite intentional vs. accidental.

(Not an exact argument, only goes to a point, so don't write a wall of words on it, thank you.)

I don’t know if losing your gun should incur criminal liabilities but sure repeated negligence probably should come with some kind of penalty.

Fortunately, legal firearms carriers (concealed) commit so few crimes it is almost a statistical impossibility.

Criminal liability for "losing your firearm" might be a bit harsh. But certainly financial responsibility - meaning you can be open to litigation if the firearm is used in a crime. I'd be open to criminal liability if it could be proven that the firearm was not secured in a satisfactory manner. Something akin to firearm "negligence".

You’re right. The idea that a good guy with an inanimate object is what will stop a bad guy with an inanimate object is lame!

That’s the point. It’s a mockery.

These "equity" programs are nothing more than Critical Race Theory in disguise. "Equity" programs which are designed to make students of particular races feel bad about themselves is nothing more than abuse.
