They don't use a fully auto weapon because they don't have to. A semi auto one does the job just fine. Its a juice vs. squeeze argument. Why go through the extra hoops to get an automatic weapon? Anyone who understands them knows they're not as accurate, and if its incrementally a bigger pain in the ass to get, why do it? A semi automatic weapon does what they need it to.

That is why they don't get them.

The military uses them as the standard.When they were widely available during the mob days the Tommy gun was a favorite.The government thought they were so dangerous they banned them and made it a ten 10 prison sentence to have one illegally.

I think you are mistaken if you think if a criminal had the option of a full auto AR 15 and a semi auto AR they would take the semi auto by choice.

Lets be clear about something - you're not debating a single thing, and I doubt you've ever really tried to on here.

Ask any soldier in combat, please. I know many, many soldiers. Have trained on the range with them. When they fire, they're using single or TRB. Fully auto is for suppressive fire, and using a SAW or something like that. For what gang bangers and other criminals use, single fire is just fine, which is why they use it.

And you can still - legally - get an automatic rifle if you've got the right credentials and set up with the ATF.
