What Eurex Does Not Tell The Traders

Extract from Eurex link provided by BEaker...

"The data provided are fully anonymous and do not list order or trade number, member, trader,
account or order and trade restriction attributes."

10 years of trading....naive, hmmm.

It’s adapt or die my friend. You have not substantiated your claim in any way, shape or form. You are making a lot of noise about nothing. Its like a pro sports man complaining because his competitor has been studying videos of his game play looking for an edge.

i think you guys are genuinely naive.

renaissance trading are experts in breaking down data and with heavy computing can work out the players and trade styles and size of most markets within days.

when you change your style they will adapt in minutes.

they pay fortunes for order book history.

why do you think they pay for it.

if its useless information.

why bother.

that alone tells you there is something valuable in the information.

IF ITS WORTHLESS AND OF NO USE WHY ARE EUREX SELLING AND WHY ARE THEY BUYING IT.

Beaker- just quit it.You have been moaning/whining about EUREX/ALGOS for several years now. Will u still be moaning about them in 2013? Give it a rest please

im still awaiting an answer from you experts.

why do eurex sell it to algo companies and why do they continually buy it.

no one has answered the question.

if you are correct and the information is useless why does a market exist for this information.

I hate to do this to you but you leave me no choice.
I James R have your information. I download time and sales and all other information. So if you are angry, be angry with me as well. :)

Backtesting. Plenty of quants/traders think backtesting is the answer to the next great strategy. So they buy the data and then run 1000s of strategies through it.

It's a perfectly normal activity.

This thread is just plain silly.

If you subscribe to a datafeed with an API, you can record order book history yourself if you want to. You don't even have to buy it in bulk from the exchange.

What is the essential difference in supplying real time book data and historical book data ?

then I will answer it for you. first of all, nobody claimed the info is useless. Secondly, if you think the holy grail is hidden in that data then go ahead and buy it or set up a tick server yourself and capture and analyze the data. Something useful is there, which coincides with the fact that this is the only point I share with you in common. If its your bread and butter then get the data and find your edge, which you apparently lack.

Good luck and please shut up now.

Hey Dickhead, when are you going to quit it?

You're so stupid you don't even know where you're from!

I'll bet you don't even trade, just a sideliner stuck in a shitty job getting off by pretending they are involved in the markets, perhaps because they think it's kind of exotic.

Will YOU still be pretending in 2013?

So you are angry that Eurex doesn't tell you personally that they sell historical data although it's listed for sale on their website clear enough for you to find it and you want to take action, is that correct?

you realize that baron the owner of this site essentially does the same thing right? He takes your stupid comments and gets traffic and sells ad space.

Are you going to take action against him or just markets you cannot adapt to?

You also realize that the sale of the data isn't restricted to algos and I'm sure Eurex would be happy to take your money too.

Risk Management professionals also use historical data and when you open up a historical chart, where do you think that data comes from? The historical data chart fairy?

So pipe down.

Quote from THE-BEAKER:

this is reason why its so hard to trade on this exchange and most other exchanges.

they take my trading history and sell it to these algo fuckers.

this is illegal.

someone out there should sue their arses.

making money out of my trading history.

surely my trade history is personal to me not for fucking sale to the highest bidder.

this exchange is a joke and so are the others exchanges.

their volume will continue to plummet with this sort of bullshit still going on.
