I tell people I don't do anything. If I tell them I Trade, their eyes roll and I either have to explain or defend.

They come-up with the damn-est things which has nothing to do with anything. I am usually short which they don't understand shorts or if I say, "down" they want to argue....it is not worth it. Best to stick to weather, sports and women.

I have found these easiest way to shut up ppl. that think I just punch keys and sit on my ass. I just ask them how much are you willing to lose? They say nothing. How long are you willing to work for free while you learn you craft? That always gets a blank look. I proudly say I am a day trader, living the dream. And I am. I really love what I do.

Yeah before I had my shipping container business I had the same problem.

I just used to say I work in Finance.

People who don't work in finance usually are pretty dumb unless they are lawyers, architects, Uni geeks etc

If I think it will piss people off, I'll tell them I trade stocks and give evasive answers to their questions. (Can't let the secrets out).

OR

I'll tell them I'm writing a book. (One post at a time, omfgwtf you're a forum whore?).
