Nah. I used to think he was a good guy, but then I saw his spiel about trading, and how "empowering" losses can be and how it can enrich your life experience. I think he wrote a book about it, and then realized he is just doing what a "life coach" does. And that is make people feel better for $29.99.

I have been trying to get a chance for Antifragile. My current excuse is every time I try to get the audiobook from one of my local libraries, it errors-out.

How do you like it so far?

Options and optionality

Options are nonlinear and asymmetrical. If you are right, you stand to gain a huge upside. But if you’re wrong, you lose small amount.

So the average return of options doesn’t matter – only the favorable ones do. And, in fact, in many domains the downside is quite limited, e.g. book sales – you cannot sell a negative number of books.
For more information, check out the article on using Optionality as a Mental Model.
Taleb’s description of an option: “Option = asymmetry + rationality”. Rational meaning that one keeps what’s good, and ditches what’s bad.
In finance and business options are often expensive, because they are clearly visible and listed in contracts. The same with insurance. But due to the domain dependency of our minds we don’t see optionality in other places – places where options are not priced or underpriced.

A friend recommended a book on trading psychology - The Psychology of Trading - Brett N. Steenbarger
All the technical prowess and the best of trade plans cannot succeed without correct, disciplined behavior. Most of us had to overcome fear, impatience, impulsiveness and lack of focus. Both Steenbarger and Mark Douglas among others have done important work on behavior and come highly recommended for the aspiring as well as continuing review for the proficient trader.

Alright, on top of the magazines I've been going through the last two weeks, here's some more STUFF I've completed:

Dear Mr. Buffet
What An Investor Learns 1,269 Miles From Wall Street
By Janet Tavakoli
-Feminist who can't even spell Buffett's name correctly? Not worth a re-read.

The Latte Factor
By David Bach
-Not much worth a re-read. Some interesting bits about how much you make after how many hours work...

The Naked Trader
How Anyone Can Make Money Trading Shares
By Robbie Burns
-Ho hum ack. Nothing too special under the sun. Was maybe a few little things IIRC, but nothing major?

The WARREN BUFFETT PORTFOLIO
Mastering the Power of the Focus Investment Strategy
By Robert Hagstrom
-An ok review of things. Nothing too new under the sun here.

This is one of the best threads on this site, keep it going forever guys...

As for me, currently reading this one
