This is a re-read, having read it the first time back in August of 2020 I believe. I must have been utterly clueless at the time (or bad memory now), because I wouldn't have remembered so after going through the audiobook again. In any case, it's still a good book. Buffett would be unlikely to agree though, as Malkiel thinks you can't really beat the market.

Interesting. No one has updated this thread in a week. I guess everyone's too busy now that the bear market and recession is here to stay.

This book was more in-depth than I had originally guessed. Goes into many details, such as divorce, and traps of social insurance options, etc. It's based for Americans but some can be adapted for Canada.
Currently, I am reading The Simple Strategy - Markus Heitkoetter
Honestly, nothing as of now. I am open to some recommendations.

I thought this one may be a good educational book. Unfortunately, very early in I had the nasty feeling this book was written by a libertard after the author continually began inserting negative Trump undertones. As the book progressed, it became a filler of more and more political garbage. If you believe that we can solve every problem by just turning on the printing presses and giving money out like there is no tomorrow, then this book may just be for you. Especially if you like to whine and moan how amazingly well white people have it right now and how terrible everyone else is in comparison.
Unfortunately, even if there were some valid statements to the deficit preaching, due to the political trash in this book, I can't even trust anything I am reading. The author obviously has an axe to grind.
I am not sure which one of his books I have, but I got it free from Amazon even though it was hard-cover, which is surprising. Naturally, it was a bit of a pitch toward his paid subscription service IIRC... which I had half-suspected.
And of course, I didn't bother signing up either.
I've read his PowerX. I have to say, I wasn't too impressed. He makes a big deal out of using basic TA stuff like stochastics and RSI. Of course, it's how you use it, but for those who's been in this game for some time know none of those crap work.

maybe a hint on Saint Nick rally [last week DEC, ,but not a prediction] She described her first turkey hunt in SD-Faith Bottom/LOL. Faith Bottom felt excitement\ kick of 20 gauge shotgun,+ shame. NOT sure why the shame\ i never felt shame on shooting gamebirds
I wondered if Faith Bottom knew something, working on ed page of WSJ?? LOL Maybe, but not a prediction, Saint Nick rally is in the Stock Traders Almanac

I really liked this book. Contrary to the original explanation of a hedge fund fucking-up its sell-orders in 2010 and causing the flash-crash due to a lag/latency issue... this book gets into details on the day-trader Navinder Sigh Sarao who took over the majority holding of the S&P 500 futures contracts and tried to spoof the bots/algos. Supposedly eventually precipitating the entire crash.
That said, if you seem to be a fan of this kind of book (or even not), you may want to watch this very interesting documentary on the flash-crash as a good supplement:
