I had a lot of driving to do on Friday, so loaded up with some extra audiobooks in addition to my other reading this week:
Socrates
In 90 Minutes
By Paul Strathern
Quick and basic audiobook.
St. Augustine
In 90 Minutes
By Paul Strathern
Another quick and basic audiobook.
financial statements
DeMYSTiFieD
A Self-Teaching Guide
By Bonita Kramer & Christie Johnson
★★★
A good book. One which I may re-read again down the road sometime. Covers all basics from balance-sheets to cash-flows and ratios. Tricks on looking up suspicious books, etc. Good stuff.
The Investment Answer
By Gordon Murray
This 2-hour audiobook wasn't too bad actually. Much better than most.
Philosophy
A Very Short Introduction
By Edward Craig
A pretty good 4-hour audiobook, which went into a lot of details on Socrates to Kant and Hegel. Very good stuff.
The Birth of NETFLIX and the Amazing Life of an Idea
That Will NEVER Work
By Marc Randolph 'Co-Founder and first CEO of NetFlix'
9 hour long audiobook. As a holder of Netflix stock, I'm glad to have got more details into the very early stages of the company. There is a reminder in here to all CEOs with hubris, how Blockbuster could have bought NetFlix on the super cheap at the time, but decided to pass on the deal. Ouch...
