What are the odds Trump will step down?

Never know, but I could honestly see him doing that.

Lets just say the polls are right. Why wouldn't he step down?
Its better than taking the "L".

He hates to lose, and in his mind and in the eyes of his base, he could spin it like he's going out a winner; he did his best, but he's stepping down "for the good of the party and hence, the good of the country". He can do what he's done all along... blame it on the mainstream media. "They never gave me a chance."

See here's the thing... Trump is a conniver, and connivers are always thinking ahead as to their next move and how that next move will best suit them. I have been proven right time and time again about how he thinks and what he's going to do and I can tell you all right now what's first and foremost in his head as things stand today... its no longer a win in November... its now about the preservation of the Trump name and the Trump brand. That's more important to him than anything else.

A landslide defeat in November will permanently tarnish the brand, more so than it already is in the eyes of many. No more new Trump hotels, no more new Trump golf courses... none of it. Who the hell is gonna license the name if he goes out with his tail between his legs? A lifetime building a brand... down the drain. Oh sure, he can start the Trump TV cable channel and it will certainly have a modicum of success, but that's not what he really wants, its not what he lives for. He needs those 5 big gold letters adorning 5 star properties and sky-scrapers.

Time is running out though, so he needs to make a deal pretty quick. I have no idea who the RNC could run in his place, but they need to keep the Senate at all costs or its game over for the Republican Party.

Exit the stage with grace, and history will certainly be more kind.

Probably too late though.
What's Nikki's phone number again?

I have been looking for signs the Republicans are resigned to losing 2020 and potentially being a party decisively in the minority for some time to come. I did notice last week an article mentioning the Fed will be directly lending to large corporations. I did not read the article, but my initial thought was related to accountability.

I would imagine if Trump goes pardon happy like Obama did at the end of his 2nd term, that would be a solid sign of either Trump’s intention or outlook.

Would never happen. Polls haven't been true since 2016. Given the riots orange man is actually probably looking like a pretty good "lesser of two evils" choice for nearly everyone but the very far left. Especially when you're running against a guy who 20% of his own party thinks has dementia and accomplished virtually nothing progressive in 40+ years of office.

Given the turn around of many politicians on both sides of the aisle getting positions despite not being career politicians I think the far left is sad their only choice to beat Trump is a neoliberal geriatric who can barely remember his own name and has to have "special" meetings because he's too much of a klutz to talk unprepared. I'm fully convinced all of the "Orange Man is Losing the Polls" discouragement trolling is necessary because everyone knows Trump is going to steamroll Biden even with his faults. In this light all of the @exGOPer posts make complete sense. The progressives are very afraid. Very, very afraid. So afraid in fact they'd be willing to throw their vote at Biden who is closer to a shitty establishment Republican than a good modern Democrat.

You are the guy who posts Facebook bullshit pretending it's real and get called out, now you are peddling about riots which are out of the news cycle and nobody other than dumb boomers like you give a shit about anymore. In fact, Biden's numbers climbed after the whole BLM thing as minority vote got solidified.

But most importantly, culture wars never win any elections, its always the economy which is the only thing people care about. Trump 'won' because he made a better economic promise even though it was impossible, he has not only done anything other than appease his donors but made things worse for everyone else. Nobody is going to buy that same argument again in PA, Michigan and Wisconsin anymore.

As for your 'dementia' bullshit from Rasmussen, why wasnt Trump polled by the same outfit? Because you want to have a narrative about ageism which is great as it only turns off the old geriatric GOP base. Keep doing that.

Lastly, you talk about 'far left' and 'progressives' but end your rant with Biden is a Republican. At least get your talking points straight, why would people who are pissed off with the far left not vote for the centrist Republican instead of the far right racist Republican?

I’m going to conduct my own Presidential poll over the next few weeks. Using a list from a title company that is defined by areas, I plan to get the opinions of 1200 voters. I will create a thread and disclose my methodology here on ET.

My expectation for my poll would be Trump is behind Biden by 700 basis points or so. I also want to gain a sense of what voters are feeling and any flexability in their position they may have.

Trump is a terrible racist. He even got black unemployment down to 3%.

The polls got 2018 right. Right?
But yeah, polls are wrong sometimes and sometimes they're right so ya never know.

I guess I take my own polls, not in the literal sense, but in the sense that I know a wealth of people on both sides, all educational levels, across many states red and blue, black/white/old/young, rich and poor. Pretty lucky I guess, its my charming personality. But I take it all in and I get the feel for the pulse. One things for sure... Trump is losing ground fast. There's a few die-hards... and Biden is weak af like you said... but its the women that matter. They're done with him. For whatever reasons. There's a few blacks that like him and despise what's going on... but the under 40's... forget about it. They'll vote for anyone but Trump. IF.... they vote. Wildcard there.

What's the black unemployment now?

Must have taken Trump so much effort into continuing that trend, blacks should vote for the guy who sided with Neo-Nazis because of that.

Maybe you can't read a chart but that big line there responds to COVID-19. Trump tried to shut the borders down but your side of the aisle said that was racist.

Oh well, Orange Man Bad as they always say.

The same COVID-19 Trump said will go down to zero in FEBRUARY? The same he said was like the flu and summer would kill it? Then pressed for re-opening too fast which is now causing the 2nd wave? Trump trying to shut down the Mexican border by separating families and putting kids in cages would have prevented COVID spread? What are you even babbling about?

Yes, Orange man bad because he is a dumb moron who constantly lies with an army of dumb cultists like you who repeat bullshit online, what they are saying is right.
