What about Orange Juice?

loved it.

but I must admit, as I was buying those march puts, I made a mental note to make sure that regardless of what would happen I will keep them to expiration.

as b1s2 pointed out, I had no idea these type of commodities would behave in the way he explained earlier. It makes complete sense.

And your account made was also right on. Still, I had to follow through with my original plan, for better or for worse. At least I am getting very good at following my plans though. I definitely need to look at the long term trend seriously and stop being mr hero.

Cheers !

OptionPro007,

I've follow some of your posts and can say I am jealous that I don't know options the way I would like to. I use to trade the intraday environments but over the last year or so have migrated primarily to the longer term swing and position trades. Less stress, the same end profit and more free time to play. I have some friends that trade in the same commodities rings I do and they clean up on the options end as well as the Futures. I can read the long term or short term trends like the back of my hand so can you suggest a starting place for me to learn simple straight forward options tecniques? Thanks in advance.

Hi Prof,

I am also starting to follow your posts =).

I have read several books that covered to some degree options on futures and in all cases none of them covered simple directional trades. However liquidity in these contracts makes most of them almost untouchable, so I am not sure how your friends trade them, unless if they use them to generate income as b1s2 has pointed out he does on some of his positions. Wish he would elaborate on this issue.

I also believe in longer term trading. A mistake I made once I could dedicate myself full time to this endeavor was to go into intraday charts. As both you and b1s2 have pointed out long term is less stressful, more fun and to me much more profitable, even though I am still toiling around with small accounts.

You can try www.optionstar.com/intro/ for futures option pricing.

I wish I could help you further, I am just not sure i would advocate directional bets on options on futures as the easiest way to go.

Cheers !
