We've seen the bottom, up from here

Yes but has that news been GOOD ENOUGH to overcome the headwinds? I'm just not sure.

Eventually yes. But if you buy the right things it doesn't matter. GXE will have zero debt in a few months and with WTI at $87 ( hell $60 is good for them ) what on earth should the stock do in an economic recovery ? Will GOOG, AMZN, VISA, AAPL suddenly stop making boat loads of money. Hey, with worldwide shortages in chips, copper, nat gas is it possible to see some areas of strength in 2022 ?

The negativity on here is crazy bad. I could point out some posts on here from various corrections but lately all we get is a phony this is the dot com all over again vibe. End of this year it will be clear it wasn't.

I look at returns this week, and they contradict your statement that this week was a good week for the largest and best companies out there. It was not.

News wise:

Ukraine Russia conflict

Fed chairman stating that he cannot exclude the possibility that the Fed might hike at every single fed meeting this year

Oil prices making new highs

Short yields further up

Canadian Reits lower

Most US companies reporting this week posted negative estimates and last earnings being week. Emphasis on most, not all

Which positive news are you talking about?

Wallow in negativity then the internet is good for that. The filters some of you operate on are ridiculous.

Sure but did you post your long portfolio early this month or are you just picking a few names that held up with bias of hindsight?

Your long portfolio has been long all month? Lol. Yes, if your only long portfolio position consists of Chevron perhaps. Are we trading in the same year?

I have been green the entire month. I'm up so far today. This is on a 6 figure account. GXE is now breaking out as I expected; I own a lot of shares.

Good to hear some opposition, thanks for having you an the hint regarding GXE

It's not the internet, I posted hard cold return numbers this week and facts that directly impact the economy going forward. Being positive minded is a good trait but being naive and ignoring all the realized losses this week is being ignorant to facts. Next week might look different but you made some outrageous claims about this week and everything in the market and real economy and monetary policy contradicts your earlier statement. That's all I have to say to this.

Wallow in negativity then the internet is good for that. The filters some of you operate on are ridiculous.

So you say. Did you post your long portfolio at the beginning of this month? That would substantiate your claim that your long portfolio was up this month. All else is just talk. Exactly as valuable as your claim about news. You hold a large position in GXE, a penny stock with 30 million cad in revenues in the last quarter... That says it all... I am out.

Note:
My IB YTD performance on a 7 figure portfolio, nothing to write home about, I missed a lot of opportunities on the short side. But I was defensively positioned to preserve AUM. Where is your positioning and ytd performance other than just your claims?

I'm not here to impress you. This is also why I rarely post trades on here some of you cynics are so lost in bs you can't see straight.

Should I quote what I said about US IT stocks throughout 2021 ?

No need to. Let's not discuss apples and oranges. I think everyone in this thread are discussing the broad market, i.e., S&P 500, NDX, etc.

You may very well be a good stock picker.
