We've seen the bottom, up from here

There's perma-bears and there's perma-bulls.

Never once heard you say anything remotely bearish on the stock market.

Then you haven't been paying attention. I deal in reality and it looks bullish in this overly bearish environment. I called the 2016 correction mere months before it occurred. I called for one correction in 2022. In no way am I permabull and again the funny part is I got this a lot from 2009-2014 on here and my macro calls were really, really good throughout.

Should I quote what I said about US IT stocks throughout 2021 ?

Anyways my long portfolio has been green all month proving if you know what to own corrections are not an issue. In fact, since 2009 I have made money on every single correction long ( sell on the initial drop, rebuy oversold later ). The worst thing one can do is let fear prevent you from cashing in on value that comes up.

Smart money is shorting bonds and selling stocks to retailees. When the stock market has crashed enough Fed has to step in and reverse the game. Mark my words.

OK let's see here, percent returns so far this week, with all those awesome good news you are speaking thereof:

AAPL unchanged
AMZN -1.3%
FB -1.6%
TSLA -10%
Msft +0.7%
Nvda -4%
Nflx -4%
Amd -11%
Intl -11%
Gs unchanged
Jpm unchanged

So, this week has been nothing but negative news, at least as far as concerns Us equity markets. And I only listed some of the top names. Your statement is simply wrong.

You just have to buy the right things. High quality big cap US stocks ( see MSFT, V, AAPL, GOOG, AMZN ) and energy, Big players already doing it. This is setting up like a giant trap for overconfident bears and certainly at least a decent opp to get into some good names with less risk. GXE one of my fav energy plays just set a new 52 week high potential breakout.

GXE.TO new 52 week high TODAY. US GDP +6.8% fourth quarter annualized. Corporate earnings forecast 10-15% up this year. Correction being met by cross winds as companies like VISA, MICROSOFT, AAPL post huge earnings. WTI at $88+ seems bullish on the economy to me.

Did you miss all that ? Corrections are a normal stage of markets.

Your long portfolio has been long all month? Lol. Yes, if your only long portfolio position consists of Chevron perhaps. Are we trading in the same year?

I look at returns this week, and they contradict your statement that this week was a good week for the largest and best companies out there. It was not.

News wise:

Ukraine Russia conflict

Fed chairman stating that he cannot exclude the possibility that the Fed might hike at every single fed meeting this year

Oil prices making new highs

Short yields further up

Canadian Reits lower

Even US Financials performed very poorly given the rising rates environment

Most US companies reporting this week posted negative estimates and last earnings being week. Emphasis on most, not all

Which positive news are you talking about?
