I'm not sure if I could be considered a "Trump true believer" in your eyes, certainly I probably would in some of your more radical friends here, but I'll give it a shot...only because you called folks out.
The statement was fucking stupid. But it is just a gaffe. There are thousands of such gaffes from politicians throughout our history. Want me to list some of Biden's? How about Obama's? Hillary? Pelosi's would fill the forum and force Baron to increase his cloud storage.
Public speaking isn't easy. Have you tried it? I have. It's a pain in the ass, especially when you go off script - which Trump does all the time. Obama was considered a "great orator" but he was also criticized for using his teleprompter all the time. Trump obviously goes off script most of the time - to his detriment, again, all of the time. Its easy to laugh at this comment as the dumbest thing we've heard in a while - and it is the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. Colorado a border state? WTF was he even thinking when he said that?
But again, its just a gaffe. Have fun with it, but don't think its just a Trump thing.
