Went To The Optics Shop... Got PISSED OFF!

You know how annoying it is in the US.. my 99c icecream is $1.08 thing makes me go grrrrr...:)

I could see your point, but we're a cashless society. Taxing consumption is probably the only true progressive tax. Poor people don't buy the Benz. Flat income tax. Flat local sales tax. Nominal sales tax at 10% won't negatively impact any local municipality.

I don't have a smart phone, but I'm forced to pay for theirs.

I don't buy designer eyeglasses for myself, but I'm forced to pay for theirs.

WTF??

Damn. I guess I just have to admit it. I'm a F'n NAZI!!

:(

omg. HTF do you still have a flip-phone? Dude, please. They have the Cricket prepay. They have to pay for that thing. You're not paying for their iPhone 7.

Nearly but depends on where you are. My assistant is in the States and she uses cash fairly often she just said.

I use cash when visiting mostly as American barmen and.. lots of others.. are thieving bastards. I know chip and pin is finally there but once last Christmas I had to jump the bar and take the magnetic reader the POS who had just swiped my card with it under the counter.

Twice I've had my foreign card cloned and used in the US a year and a day after I used them for something small passing through the US. I don't fuck about anymore.

I use CCs overseas. The only issue is when it's cloned you can't use it, but the issuer will usually overnight a new card; so just use a different card in the interim. Open up another checking account with a debit card and sweep funds into it as needed. CC gets cloned you use the DC. I hate using cash. You either have too much or too little. I keep a small roll of singles for tipping at Starbucks, Chipotle,5 Guys etc.

Yeah, but I live in Colombia so you have a long debate with the UK bank about whether they can send a card here. Easier to DHL it but it takes days and my time to arrange.

In the UK and ROI I've never had a card fraud but they have had chip and pin for decades.

On one occasion in Florida I had used my debit card just once to buy drinks at a trader event, 100% certainty it was this location only.

Year and one day later (2nd time) it got blocked, they sell the numbers to carders etc. I rang the bar, got the white trash inbred's new work then had him PayPal me $200 bucks for courier and an apology or he loses the job.. and the next.. and the next etc.

Helps to sound like Liam Neeson's big brother sometimes. ;)

I don’t understand your point. You want the US to deal with healthcare costs but you think universal healthcare is an economic death trap?

Universal healthcare is how we deal with healthcare costs.

We don’t talk about the healthcare burden we put on ourselves because we are stuck in a 19th century healthcare system. It’s been time to move on.
I stated I support universal health care in the US, but only when costs are brought to normal levels, otherwise you have a system that will not be sustainable long-term.

when the govt is handing out a package of benefits which put people in a position which is superior to some levels of work... (particularly because of benefits cliffs) everyone can see we have a poorly structured society... if you believe that one of the personal benefits of work is self esteem and that class mobility is a good goal for society as a whole. I presume almost all of you believe a society with fluid classes is a good thing.

Our current structure is creating a permanent underclass for segments of society.
If you wish to put this is caring terms... we are denying many people the dignity of work and class mobility.

No matter whether you are a bleeding heart, a wealthy person, a hard working tax payer of a benefit receiver our system has to many perverse incentives. A structure in which people making rational decisions might choose not to work is an not intelligently structured.

None of you Trumpers know WTF insurance benefits they were receiving. Numbnuts saw a Medicaid sign in his ghetto and assumed that anyone receiving "coverage" was on Medicaid.

Did Scat shoot the place up? Or just drop some scat?
