Went To The Optics Shop... Got PISSED OFF!

Broke my prescription sunglasses, so went to the shop to see about repairs. Noticed something new... a BIG sign touting Medicaid benefits for eyewear. While waiting...

1. One sales person told a customer... "The bill for these would normally be $501, but your benefits will cover it.

2.
Another sales person told a different customer.... "You might as well get them [sunglasses] with mirrored finish and polarized, your benefits cover it".

BENEFITS? BENEFITS? WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT! Taxpayers footing the bill for designer eyewear for those on the dole??

(When I was in the military, you could get your eyes examined and necessary eyewear with one style of frame... you know, cost effective "functional necessity"?) Didn't include prescription sunglasses. You had to pop for that "luxury" on your own.

:(

Real trumpers don't need sunglasses! Stop wearing yours immediately!

They get free Obama phones as well. You pay for their healthcare too, and it's probably a better plan than you can afford.

The obvious solution is to let in hordes more poor, uneducated people with no skills so we can support them and their huge families as well. Or you can be a Nazi. Your choice.

Here’s an idea, why not just have universal healthcare?

Clearly we're headed there. No one likes the current system. It will bankrupt us in the long term obviously, but we could cut the defense budget in half to pay for it for a while at least.

I think you are going see some form of that and soon. The danger is that they try a one size fits all approach. If we go that route we will no longer be the leader in health care innovation and treatment.

lol since when do you pay taxes? HTF do you know they were on Medicaid? Most people have coverage. EyeMed comes to mind. I am 20/20, but wife gets lenses and contacts and is covered by the vision rider on our med-insurance.

The math has always added up to it’s better to have a universal healthcare plan.

Yes. Our “defense” budget has stifled our public investments for way too long. We are by far the richest country in the world but our quality of life isn’t and it’s because of the money we pour into the military industrial complex.

I like Israel’s system. All of it is choice based and you can upgrade your coverage if you want by paying extra.

Medicaid should cover prescription glasses, even a very basic prescription sunglass, but it goes too far of it does in fact cover designer type eyewear.
