There is such as thing as drawdowns in trading. Especially with automated trading. They can last many months, even over a year sometimes.

These current losing period could all be within normally expected limits.

I don't know what kind of system, or trading you do....but in my book, if you have a 1:1 system or trading process....that's a failed strategy.
I understand drawdowns exists, of course, but they should be relatively very minimal compared to everything else,

You can't expect to win in this trading adventure....if you are just playing blackjack or roulette casually,
A trader Needs to have a significant edge or skill or process advantage -- or else you are just wasting your time praying, hoping and gambling.

todays scorecard - the plan was to start from a low baseline to make it easy to improve - have overdone it when i went out for drinks with friends last night

fitness: D
drug use: F
sleep: D (got > 8.5 hrs but no recovery due to intoxication)
trading plan execution: F (overslept and got freaked out by this morning's open, manually intervened)

Considering I messed everything up I got lucky with the P&L

fitness: C (tried to quit intervals twice today but proud I stuck it out and finished the workout, first time on the trainer in a week, been riding mostly outside)
drug use: F(been high since noon - I also made peace with the fact that I'm trying to quit while my kid is home from college - the two things can't seem to reconcile - it's usually initially a little scary when you've made peace with your addiction, but i've been here before - doesn't mean it can't get better)
sleep: A (got > 9 hrs and 99% HRV recovery)
trading plan execution: A (most losses are from precious metal longs - SLV, GDX, GLD no bueno, stayed the course and initially made piece with - i'm losing less than the S&P - but that changed as the day progressed)

This journal started so, seemingly, promising. It's like a curse....everyone who starts a trading journal...ends up failing horribly.
