What about precedents being set by Trump. Do you want future Presidents to get away with stonewalling Congress? Trump has not removed us from long term wars. Not yet, though there is continuous talk of it in Afghanistan. Trump has increased military spending does that sound like a government standing down from war? Trump abandoned our allies in both Northern Syria, at Erdogan's urging, and in Ukraine when they were under attack, in an effort to extort political help from the Ukraine President . Trump's Syria action came after Erdogan had threatened to see that his name was removed from the Trump Tower in Istanbul? Is that the kind of military leadership you are proud of?
This is according to Trump but not according to the Inspector General. In the Case of the Impeachment hearings, Trump blocked all attempts to have administration persons testify. He could have himself testified. The hearings were bi-partisan. Extortion of a foreign government for political favors has never been charged against a president in any previous administration. This is a grave charge of the most serious kind. The only people that have gone to jail so far or are currently in jail, or on their way to jail are all people from the Trump political campaign or Trump administration. Does this sound like an honest administration to you. Is this the kind of administration whose word you should trust. None of those agency directors, Comey, McCabe, etc etc. that Trump fired after they refused to do improper things that Trump asked them to do have been indicted, nor will any of them be. There is insufficient evidence to convene a grand jury.
I can't be certain that Ford told the Truth. She sounded credible to me and I found her testimony not inconsistent with the documented record and witnesses. Your impugning Sanders by suggesting he would act like trump in a lawless manner, defying subpoenas etc. Sander's is an upstanding American Citizen who believes in the rule of law. He's fine by me but I hope the Democrats will select someone else a little younger. Actually I like Bill Weld a great deal, but of course he has no chance and I can't waste a vote on him. Sanders is well educated in Constitutional law, unlike Trump, and was a political science major at the University of Chicago. He will be very familiar with the Constitution and will uphold it. Your suggestion that he might not suggests to me that you may be listening to news sources such as infowars or talk radio. These are worthless if you are interested in facts and truth. The "lusting for power" bit sounds infowarish or limbaughish to me. So you think the VA is a good idea? 100% Socialist. Would you like to get a Social Security Check someday? 100% Socialist. Are you a proud of the U.S. Military? 100% Socialist! Do you like Wal-Mart's workers being subsidized with food stamps? Corporate Welfare! Do you like unemployment compensation? Socialist?
All modern economies, even Sweden, and even the USA are mixed economies with capitalism mixed with socialism (even China!).. Bernard will have a Congress to keep him in check. Don't worry we'll be fine if he should become President. He is apt to be very demand stimulus orientated. That would be great for the economy. But instead of weapons we'd be building infrastructure. Cutting class sizes in grade school and hiring a million more teachers. He'd be a job creator, but different kinds of jobs than Trump. We'd survive it just fine!
This doesn't sound like a sensible person such as yourself. It sounds a bit Ayn Randish or like it came from some 1950s U.S. political tract. It certainly doesn't represent anything we might recognize to day. Sanders is what called a democratic socialist that's very very different from totalitarian socialism. As a matter of fact there are a number of countries that have a slightly greater to much greater proportion of socialism in there mixed economies than the U.S Does and by nearly all measure are doing as well or better than we are.

Moynihan's "Secrecy" just skip the long intro by Powers, and Zinn's "A Peoples History of the United States" (lots about social movements in the U.S. ) Both are essential reading for every American. Did you know Columbus Scalped the Arawak Indians? Did you know Washington ordered deserters from the Continental Army to be shot by their best friends? Yup.
